Group patrol altitude is 6000 , scrambling fighters to 6000. Time for all group planes to reach interception is 1 minutes oh so great... the enemy has kept a couple of fighter units at Bangkok (to my surprise I have to say) and we´ve ordered three P-47 and three P-38 squadrons to sweep the base before the bombers would go in... hurrey, it works so well all the time, at some point you just have to stop wondering how everything works... if it works well, that´s up to everyone himselve to decide... wonder why squadrons had briefings in real life, why not only telling them "you attack x or y tomorrow" and then let the squadrons do whatever and whenever they want... the bombers go in without any of the six fighter squadrons and none of them showed up before... we are twice lucky... first because land based radar isn´t working at all and this won´t change until the next patch, therefor the number of enemy fighters in the air isn´t what it could be and second halve of the fighters are Oscars and these aren´t really suited to fight our bombers... 31 enemy fighters in the air would have been just a perfect target for our 150 P-38/P-47... it´s nothing but frustrating, AE is a summary of what all can go wrong, it hardly ever comes up with a day when something goes right it seems, going with all the other AARs, it´s not because of the special castor troy edition though... it´s too much, things could and did go wrong in real life but more or less having things go wrong every day is just awful... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Air attack on 4th Division, at 106,125 (Rabaul) Weather in hex: Moderate rain Raid spotted at 26 NM, estimated altitude 9,000 feet. Group patrol altitude is 6000 , scrambling fighters to 10000. Time for all group planes to reach interception is 82 minutes Wellingtons aren´t suited to fight enemy fighters, not even if they are Japanese... with things going wrong all the time due to it being hardcoded and having the oh so famous "strike pack feature" it will get pretty nasty as soon as the patch makes land based radar actually working... this will also make all the testing during alpha and beta a bit problematic because all these "screw up features" obviously have been "tested" with non working land based radar... if land based radar then works and it´s the same as ship based radar (I assume it should) then we´re back at having WITP Cap (when talking about numbers) but are stuck with AE "strike pack screw up features"... it will be great for sure... should I then play on with non working land based radar or will it be great to send your single squadron sweeps (that lose at least 3 fighters every time) against a fully reinforced Cap? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Air attack on Dili , at 71,115 Weather in hex: Thunderstorms Raid spotted at 39 NM, estimated altitude 15,000 feet.
