I request Matrix games to make a Hotfix to repair the Radar Bugg.

As known Ground to Air Radar's does not work, and detection is done at 40NM only. This severely hampers the Japanese ability to defend itself from 1943 and onwards.

Could you please make a Hotfix to repair this problem, or maybe it is recommended to go back to earlier version of the game?
Please Advice.

I hope for a fast reply.

Best regards
Rudolf

eh... ok.
Well I put the link in my Signature.

Well, I hope the ones with the power to act will reply, the Amount of planes who manage to scramble are of course effected by how long warning they get.
So from a Air Defence perspective this is very important to Japan.

Possibly because someone just keeps refreshing this thing to pad the count. That or the 20 people online on this forum all checked the thread 50 times in 5 minutes.

Try starting a new campaign under the latest patch as the allies and let me know how you make out. This bug affects both sides not just one.

I'd love to see a hot fix and asked for one on 9-7 , They always seem to have alot on their plate but hopefully the developers are working on it and we'll see a fix soon.

Seems like a biggie. Between this and the inverted search arc bug detection is going to be a problem. At least there is a workaround for the bad search arcs 9don't use them)

I doubt a hotfix is going to happen.

It'll be a while till my game reaches 1943, but regardless this seems like a very big bug that needs squashing ASAP.

Bad search arcs? I must have missed this, can someone provide a link? From what I see my search arcs are working ok.

I thought mine were working okay as well Nemo but apparently there is a bug, I feel like I'm getting more hits since I turned off search arcs

I oppose the request for a ground radar-only hotfix. I know there are more bugs they have squashed and are pending release and others pending fixes, but some of the more significant ones are:

- Ground radar
- Attack planes
- Search arcs
- AA performance
- Shipboard AA ammo
- Occasionally getting the enemy Combat Events instead of your own

And of course plenty of others they have worked with people on and nailed down.

Taken out the time to put together a ground radar-only hotfix would take away from the main patch that will address so many issues.

SuluSea,
Well this would explain some of my failures to hunt down BBs early in the game. So, if I put in to search an arc from 90 degrees to 120 does that mean it searches 270 to 300 or is it randomised somehow?

At first it was thought to be backward, but it was later found that also does not work. "Randomized somehow" is a reasonable choice of words. What I call 'no arcs' is the way to go: click the "Reset Arcs" button or just make certain the arc set is Start 000 End 000.

There was another thread that discussed search arcs at length, with a multitude of test run. The clear result was the search arcs do not work and that setting them is totally useless - or more likely counterproductive. The results proved that you were better off not setting any search arcs.

I didn't set arcs during the last year of my game with Miller, and I haven't set a single arc in my game with Q-Ball (now in June '42). I am convinced that the results in my games reflect the test results.

Man, I am starting to get discouraged.  This game is a HUGE time sink, which is fun when things work, and not when they don't.  I knew about many things mentioned here, but I missed this.

What about the air stuff does work? I mean radar doesn't, search arcs, admin stacking has no basis from the real world, mission coordination, training pilots doesn't even require airplanes. I'm sure there is more I'm missing (like max alt sweep). So what actually does work?

Yes, but here's the thing. Warts and all, the game seems to have reached a balanced stasis. There are lots of warts and glitches and bugs that can drive players crazy, but many of the problems affect both sides, and those that vex just one side seem to be counterbalanced by some problem that vexes the other side.

So, the net effect is that we have a majestic, challenging, beautiful game that lends itself to satisfying competition. It's been said before that the game is like three dimensional chess on steroids. Yes, the rooks are missing part of their masonry, the queens have lost their crowns, and dry rot has set in on the pawns, but it still works.

We all hope that glitches will be fixed, but there's something to be said about not fixing a bug that affects only one side (or one side disproportionately) thus throwing the game out of balance.

P.S. All this is said with thanks to the developers for creating a monster game and working hard to address problems.

Well said Canoe. And much more politically correct than the one I had drafted before fate intervened.

99,9 % of the air code works, and makes for an enjoyable game.

yup, these surely are the main ones at the moment. The first three are bugs, AA would be a tweak I guess and the last one is totally new to me.
