Maybe one of the Threadsters can help me. I'm trying to come up with a list of house rules that have been endorsed by people of some "authority", that is people who've had some hand in developing, refining or testing this game. So far , you'd have thought that I'd asked people to smack around a live skunk. Anybody got any idea's why I have not be able to get any advice on this? No joy with emails or PM's, and I've even just made a post with my request (my second).

Maybe you should just decide which ones you like and agree to them? The ones that make sense to you? If that's none, then it's none, but you don't need the devs leading you around by the nose to figure out what house rules work for you.

Maybe not. When I'm sick, I go to a doctor. If my car needs work, I see a trustworthy mechanic. To arrange a portfolio ,I see a finacial advisor. If that's being led around by the nose, then we all do it everyday. Is it so surprising, that in a game where we spend many hours of our lives, we might want to get competant advice? No disrespect to you Mike, as you are competant as any player here, and much better than most. But I'd really love to hear someone who worked on the game say "this is what we intended, it didn't work out yet, but while we are trying to fix it ,you might try this".

This is a game, not a part of life that has drastic ramifications if you get it wrong. All house rules are essentially judgment calls. I'm actually much more confident in house rules that come out of players actually playing the game and running into issues than what the devs think. Most of them don't even play the game much.

And the great thing is, because I decided which ones to use (along with my opponent or opponents), I can change them any time I want.

Right. OK. And since no one at Matrix seems to want to return my PM's,emails,or comment on my posts, it's all academic anyway. You think that since I live in a state covered with windmills, I wouldn't bother going on line to tilt at them.

This Airline and some-others in this area, have controversially been out-sourcing their maintenance (C and D checks mainly) for the last few years. It appears that most aircraft in this area are now been sent to the Philippines for these maintenance, but with no slip in the standards of-course.

The engine in question was maintained by Rolls Royce (the Original Equipment Manufacturer) in Germany, probably under a "Power by the Hour" arrangement. Hardy a cheapskate solution.

This incident involving a relatively new design has deeper implications.

What I found the most disturbing is damage to the upper surface of the A380 wing (there is video of this shoot by passenger who was sitting just across the rupture)... there was, apparently, engine explosion with parts flying around...

BTW, what Martin thinks about this (he is, after all, our aircraft engine expert)?

Not nice sight though (especially sitting near wing in question and looking straight at expanding hole)!

Morning. Good, for you, i hope.

Second night in a row that Claire must be tied up to her bed by the medics. Last night she tried to swallow a spoon and her mobile phone.
Have a interview/meeting/rendez-vous (guys, what's the right word ??) with "her" doctor today. And of course fearing what he could say.
Fortunately, her parents are keeping hope and "provide "me with such when i lack, and vice/versa they are sometime wondering how i can stand all this and i give them comfort as much as i can.
There is only one way: STRUGGLE ; but damn < deleted for morale purpose > hard it is.

Once more a big thank you for all of you here (and you are many enough that i can't count exactly !) that gave support and words.

Eric
