The problem has been posted before but as far as I can see up to now no satisfying solution has been offered:

When running ToW I have a problem with the mouse pointer in the game. In fullscreen mode as well as in windowed mode the mouse lags horribly and thus makes the game unplayable for me.

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Tom

I run in 1280 X 800 Windowed Mode with "Hide Mouse Pointer". You will have no problem in this mode and you will have easy access to Windows as you play. The mouse pointer will be the actual Windows pointer without lag or stutter.

hm, 1280 x 800 is no option available in my installation of the game. The two screen resolutions above and below do nothing positive to the problem.

Did you hide the cursor in an available windowed mode? I think this is the important part.

Same here on a 4GB machine with high-end processor and graphics card. Any options apart from windowed mode?

It is quite hard to lag standard windows mouse pointer. I'm testing TOW few times every day on non-high-end PC configuration (WinXP, AMD Athlon 4200+, 2GB RAM) and only the in-game pointer lags.

1) Make sure you restart the game after checking "Hide Mouse Pointer" when using any windowed mode.

2) Open file fpslimit.txt (with Notepad) from the game's installation directory, remove it's content and insert "30" (only the number, without quotation marks), save and close file and then run the game.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, it is the in-game pointer that lags badly. I was hoping there was a fix as windowed mode loses some real estate in-game. I can live with it if it is the only option, just not my preferred one if there was an alternative. The standard windows mouse does not lag at all when I run in a window and disable the in-game one.
