I tried looking via search and I'm sure it must be there but the search engine keeps saying no. So.

As Japan, I have built the new carrier, but I can't find any playes to put on it other than fighters. My pool says there are Vals and Kates available but I can seem to get any on the carrier.

What am I missing?

Thanks

They have to be in a designated aircraft unit. You can't just pull a mess out of the pool and plunk them onto a carrier. You need to move a carrier-capable unit onto the carrier.

What is that carrier BTW? I think every japanese Val, Kate or Mabel unit is carrier capable. You can use any of these (of course you might have to pay them out, if they are restricted).

I don't mind paying them out but I can't seem to do that either. I have this carrier floating around trying to get planes to transfer and all the options are greyed out. Val, Kate, Mabel units whatever won't move. I can only load zeros.

Even hasn't worked.

If the "transfer to base" and "tranfer to ship" options are greyed out bristolduke, it means that you just transfered those units somewhere during the current turn and you won't be able to transfer them again till the next turn. Be sure the carrier is within tranfer range and wait till the next turn.

The transfer to base and transfer to ship are not greyed out only the command. But when I select transfer to ship the carrier doesn't show. They are both in the same hex at port.

On the air unit screen look at the "attached to:" area, if there is an (R) meaning restricted then you can't transfer that unit. Also make sure you don't have more than 5 air units on the carrier.

If restricted you will need to change it to a unrestricted HQ (no R) but bear in mind that there are some units that are restricted and cannot be changed (at least for the Allied player) These units will have the attached HQ written in white and not in yellow. Then you should be able to move any "carrier capable" unit onto a carrier.
