I gave in during a week moment and unblocked the most recent incarnation of our favorite forum troll to see what he could possibly have posted in the "thank you veterans" thread.

I am willing to bet $1,000,000 he has never spent a single day serving in the military of any country.

No bet. Your money is safe.

Hmmm. I think I'm starting to see why nobody likes him.

That's our Yuri. He always was a quick one.

Well, theres a distinct difference between being a jerk (in the thread that got locked) and being a douche (in the Vets day thread).

Besides, I very seldom follow the threads on the main forum, so I miss much of the back story to most of these incidents.

That's a very wise policy, my Brother.

does sometimes visiting a fantasy world where he leads hordes of orcs from the saddle of a flying nazgul count?

Dang! I never thought of that! I had better consult with my lawyers.

Thats 6. From what I have of supermarkets around my area, the only ones that come in cases are Coors and Bud, neither one of which diverse the appellation of "beer".

Mini homeowner crisis averted - Tithe.

My wife came home and started a load of laundry when she noticed that the catch pan under the washing machine had a lot of water in it.  The mighty hero immediately flew home from the office to her rescue.  He cleaned up all the water, was not able to find a leak of any kind and now has the laundry process moving forward once again.

Here's hoping the ceiling downstairs from the laundry doesn't fall in in the next hour.

I watch them as well, once in a while. I especially like Alton Brown.

But if I went out and bought all the gadgets and gizmos he has, I would a) go broke and b) not have any room in the house.

I've had much worse than Coors, but Bud is not beer, it's Bud. It's almost my last choice. Now, if you go to the right places, you can find just about every brand of beer in cases.

I really only watch them when my wife is in charge of the remote. Which is only when she is awake.

Yes, I'm sure they ship them that way. In fact, the best beer store in the area has them in cases that they break up into sixes. But I meant walking into a supermarket, grabbing a case and walking out.

Help! My comments are being misconstrued!

Good policy. I'm sure it helps keep the peace and tranquility of the household intact. As well as keeping you from sleeping on the couch.

With her work schedule, weekday nights and either days or nights every weekend, I rarely get to sleep in the bed with her.  I am NOT going to jeopardize those few chances.

Nay, but it is true that no *really good* beer does. There are acceptable beers such as Pilsner Urquell and Stella Artois that come in quantities. Heck, Fat Tire is pretty dern good and it comes in cases.

No, I'm afraid you've never had the canned horse piss that is mainstream American beer or your beer detector is broken. There is DEFINITELY bad beer. Indeed there is Awful Beer(TM) and Death In a Beercan(TM).

see my subsequent comments on beer selection...and I've DEFINITELY consumed "canned horse piss that is mainstream American beer"...let me pose a hypothetical situation...you are at a social gathering which is painfully awkward, but you have no choice but to attend (perhaps wife unit is a factor here) and the only beer available is "canned horse piss that is mainstream American beer"...do you drink it or abstain from alocohol in this situation (i realize that i am unabashedly applying situational "ethics" here, but hey...it's a slow day here!)

Oh no!  What happened, Scott???

Went to the doctor with chest pains on Monday thinking it was the flu. Doctor ran tests and called me at work and told me to go to the hospital on Tuesday, stated he thought I had a heart attack. Hospital ran more tests, poked and prodded me. My heart is fine and so are my arteries. The really do not know what caused the chest pains. The discharge paper from the hospital stated some thing was elevated. Prob something associated with heart burn. No I have to be carefully, they put and incision in my groin area for a coronary angiogram, they put die in my arteries. Very sore.

Scott, my best wishes !!

See, I think he may have served. For a while. Everyone knows the guy who started basic training and was seperated due to "incompatible with military service" then spends the rest of his life holding a grudge against those did complete boot, and against the military itself for not recognizing his brillance and abilities. Those are the people I find to be the most hostile against veterans and military service and services.

He doesn't seem to have a dislike, but a hatred.

Sounds like we have the makings of a bet, partner. How about a 12 pack? Even better, a case of beer. That way we can split it and there's enough to help us try to forget what we would have to do to find out who wins.

Gladly! I'll warn you though, I have expensive tastes! In NE I drink Shipyard Fuggles, on the east coast Dogfish 60,90, or 120 minutes IPA, on the West coast Pyramid, and here in Nebraska Lucky Bucket.
