Has anyone playing Civ 5 encountered a graphic crash and if so have you found it affecting other games?

I know Battlefield Academy works okay, but I have not tried other Matrix 3d games since I rebuilt my system.

I've been running the dx10/11 version of Civ5 since release and haven't had any crashes.

If I let the screen saver come up and then go back to the game the mouse is all messed up and I have to restart the game, but I don't know if that has anything to do with DX.

DX10/11 in Civ5 runs like a dog with me after a while...almost like there's a memory leak as the longer I go into the game the worse it gets. So I always run Civ5 in DX9

So do you say that the game played in DX9 runs faster than DX10/11?

ANY game runs faster in DX9 than DX10 and 11, although DX10 is much worse.

Why do you say so?

Is there any connection between displayed graphic and all the tasks that CPU must handle for AI countries?

No, DirectX is about graphics and shaders. The CPU load is going to be the same whether your using DX9 or DX11.

So why is the game playing faster with DX 9 then?

DX basically improves the graphics on games. For example, shadows and textures on DX 10 look better than those of DX 9. However those increased graphics can really slow down games as the games require more to power all those fancy shaders and textures. While DX9 doesn't make the game look as good as DX10/11, it's worth the performance boost to run DX9 over 10/11.

V22, but does playing in DX9, really speeds up AI turn in Civilization 5?

No it does not. It only makes the game run faster graphics-wise.

I have seen the game crash using DX10/11 just sitting there doing nothing (let the game to do something).

Does any Matrix game out or to be released soon use dx10/11?

No I don't say that. I'm talking about the graphics refreshing - when running in DX10/11 after a while of playing, you could sit back and watch each tile refresh - it's quite tiresome.

Thanks for the enlightenment. Didn't realize that was the difference between the DXs.
