12 inches of snow here in Dunblane since Friday night and more forecast for today. Public transport in this area has ground to a halt so most of the schools and businesses will be closed until things clear a bit. And I was unlucky enough to take a week's holiday!!

Everyone's just praying it doesn't last as long as it did last year. We were desperately low on salt, in some places there was none left and conditions were treacherous. Authorities say we're prepared this year, but there's none at our nearest supermarket carpark and there's none left in the box on our street. A bit worrying.

BTW I'm not on Romulus, I'm in Linlithgow (a town near Falkirk).

Step one in the problem solving process is to identify the problem. As the warmalist's can't seem to be able to do that it is small wonder that any of their solutions make no sense-that is assuming the goal is to reduce carbon emissions.

Ethanol, anyone? Why would governments around the world support such a thing when it is hundreds of times more toxic considering all the effort (including fertilizer). Are they all that stupid? I don't think so. They know damn well what they are after-it has much more to do with other things than global warming.

When the next ice age starts there are going to be many people praying for some of that good ole warming. I read not too long ago that during the last ice age there was a decrease in the earths temperature of 15 degrees Celsius in 1 (one) century. Real science using seabed sediments along with ice cores shows just how fast things can cool down. Keep your parka's close.

Have a Siberian Husky here and she is quite eager for snow. There is none at my place yet but we expect -10°C at wednesday already, so it will probably become an early and cold winter. I like white Christmas though, we missed that for many years in Germany.

Thread locked as it has become about climate change and thus politics rather than snow. Sorry guys, hope you enjoy the white stuff though, we've got some in Vermont too.

Regards,

- Erik
