Epogen is a brand name for Erythropoetin, a hormone which causes the production of red blood cells. It wasn't even discovered yet in 1942...but...

I'm sure that M&M Enterprises can supply the good General with as much Epo as he needs...

Shrink: ....now, Warrant Officer, I wan't you to think back to when you were expelled from your previous squadron for disciplinary reasons. You have said it was "roid rage"?

WO Harrison: Yeah, that's it Doc, roid rage.

Shrink: I'm afraid you will need to exapnd on that. Were you angry with your mother?

WO Harrison: Me mum? Why would I be angry with her?

Shrink: Does my question uspet you?

WO Harrison: You are bloody right it does. It's daft.

Shrink: Did someone at your previous squadron remind you of your mother?

WO Harrison: Remind me of me mum? They were all blokes. Look, Doc, I don't think this is helping very much. I am starting to get those old feelings again.

Shrink: Excellent! Go on.

WO Harrison: Go on, what?

Shrink: Tell me about your feelings.

WO Harrison: I am getting a feeling that I want to put my hands around your neck and choke you until you turn blue.......

Fiji it is...probably. If they are smart, they will land at Nadi (with about 30%) of the CD guns on the island.

The A-24's acquit themselves well, damaging two transports. I sent 5 SB2U's up from New Zealand. Not exactly a feasome force but the CD gusn should do some damage. The reamining 10 P-40B's will cover Nadi.
If the Japs bomb Suva then the twin AA units will have to carry the load.

Seems to me they are going to need at least 2 divisions or the intial landing will fail.

Junior Officer: Sir, what are we to do now? Do we make a stand here?

Brigadier Evans, CO 18 Div: No, the division is in good order. We will fall back on the bastion that is Darwin. Let's see how Johnny Jap likes dealing with the King's concrete and rebar.

I guess this would fall into the category of excessively pessimistic enemy kill estimates. NOTE: I did NOT put the negative sign there myself.

Surely they haven't refitted all those units from New Scotland already? They now have 3 multi-divisional campaigns going - plus China. Something's got to give soon.

This is true. The Allied evacuees from New Scotland are at about 25% prep for either Suva or Nadi. This means the divisions being reused cannot be much better than that in terms of prep. They also seem to have embarked at Noumea. We can move infantry, armor and CD guns to the chosen landing spot. There are 96,000 tons of supply on the island. That is going to last a while. It was supposed to be 150,000 tons but they started their operation 4-5d early.

We are missing a HQ and my air support numbers are a bit low and fighter strength is a weak spot but I don't think they will have carrier superiority in about 10-14 d when Yorktown and Wasp arrive.

If the Taskforce Transport location is correct I would surely say Nadi I think they would be a couple clicks down if Suva was target to hit the channel but could be wrong.

They must have stripped troops from all over DEI and Phillipines

The Philippines garrison is down to the Sasebo Eagle Scouts and some non-ambulatory veterans of Tsushima.

This is Scenario 2...I believe there are some extra land units, no?

These units are at Katherine:

2nd Recon Regiment
5th Division
38th Division
40th Brigade
24th Infantry Regiment
6th Guards Division
14th Guards Regiment

These units are at Tsuyung:

33rd Division
1st Tank Regiment
5th Guards Engineer Regiment
55th Engineer Regiment
15th Guards Regiment
17th Indpt Guards Regiment
21st Medium Field Artillery Battalion

These are at Shwebo:

Imperial Guards Division
143rd Infantry Regiment
124th Infantry Regiment
2nd Ind.Hvy.Art. Battalion
15th Army
55th Mountain Gun Regiment
7th Field AF Construction Battalion
27th JAAF AF Bn

La Foa fell only 2 weeks ago (I know, it seems a lot longer) so they haven't had that much time to prep and refit all those units on New Scotland.

Yes..good summary

Plus 4 division equivalents at La Foa, 25,000+ Naval Guards at Noumea and another 6,000 at Tanna...a full brigade + 1 regiment at Horn Is.

10,000 here, 50,000 there...pretty soon you are talking about a lot of Little Yellow Bastards running around.

Unfortunately even though 18th Div retreated in good order from Katherine with low disruption, they retreated North and now will be in the desert with Moses for 40 days.

We need to keep the Japs busy in Northern Oz and Fiji until the Russians enter the war....or sink all their carriers and cut their supply routes.

Anyone else having any ideas?

It's brilliant! Crude, yes, but absolutely Churchillian. The master stroke. You know, capture the Dardenelles and push Turkey out of the war. That kind of thing. I don't know why we didn't think of it earlier.

The question is, will the Japs see through our plan?

Of course not. Elegant design, stunning simplicity - what could go wrong?

As a regular reader of this AAR, I confess confusion. Have things gone so awry that the Turks are now beligerents? Are the Dardenelles near the Spratlys in the South China Sea?

Well, with December 7 upon us IRL, I'm sure that JJ will have certain ideas about 'presents' to bestow upon you. Perhaps a good many of the 800kg variety.
