I suppose this screenie, from the Typhoon scenario, represents mud conditions. I seem to recall from the AARs that this was depicted differently- less like a bad case of acne. But I'm not sure. Is this WAD? It's borderline unplayable, imo.

Yes, that's WAD. You can always turn it off in the preference screen.
