Hello,

I have two task forces that are "stuck" in off map channels.

The first (TF 200) is stuck in the "Panama" channel with its destination set as Balboa, but its try to move to the Aden Channel, has no timeframe set, and wont allow any changes to its destination or home port.

The Second (TF 209) teleported from the Panama channel to the Aden Channel last turn. When I set its destination to Karachi, it shows 134/10014 movemvent and wont allow a new home port to be set.

Thanks in advance for your attention and your terrific support of a terrific game.

This one has me slightly baffled. I'll need some time to work through it.

TF209 actually says it "will arrive on map at 26,5 in 1 day". So it didn't just re-materialize/warp to the other side of the map, it executed its orders. How that got set is another question but it would involve going back another turn or 2, depending on when the TF orders changed.

Not sure why but I suspect that you may have tried to change its orders while it was moving off-map. That seems to be a no-no for some reason.

Main issue I need to determine, though, is why the TFs aren't moving despite it saying it is.

Okay, the TF 200 has been caught in between modes, it is at off-map location but the off-map indicator is OFF so it is not calculating a proper range to move.

If you send me your latest save, I can reset the off-map indicator to correct it.

Can you remember what the destination was for these two TFs before you changed them??

Ah. That explains reference to Pago Pago in some of the values.

You can kick start TF209 by set the destination twice in a row without exiting the screen.
The first one fails for some reason, but seems to set the TF up to accept the destination again.

I used Karachi just to get it going. Suggest you wait for it to get there, before trying to route elsewhere.

The TF200 one is a bit more difficult, but it will warp to the Aden transit box like TF209 did. So you could do likewise.

The main issue is that TFs do NOT like to change destination while in transit. There are just too many connected links that can get flaky.

Many Thanks Michael. Is there nothing that can be done to reset them before they teleport to Aden? Its a delay I'd rather avoid if at all possible.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Updated save

Look but don't touch/change anything with those two TFs until they are at the base.

I ran one turn and they were approaching the new base.

Hi Michael,

Sorry to bug you again on this. One of the TFs came out on its way to Pago, Pago - but has nearly no fuel left....not sure if she'll make it long enough to get refueled. The other TF is still headed back to Panama, but has no arrival time.

Anything you can do about the fuel and/or tell if the TF heading to Panama is still moving in the right direction?

Thanks again,

Craig

PS - I've attached the latest save.

Hi
updated the TF 200 that was stuck again.

Following TFs that are going or are off-map doesn't sound like a good idea.
Not even sure that it is handled properly due to the virtual location of the off-map TFs. Distances wouldn't make too much sense.

Michael,

When I go to load the turn, I get the message "Save under 1.0.6.1108g, different version continue Y or N?" I'm currently on 1.0.4.1106i, Im guess this will have a material impact on my PBEM game if I were to use this save?

Thanks,

Craig

Just accept it. I loaded and resaved. No impact running under 1106i.
