The undo function is still available even if the last action revealed hidden enemy, triggered air interdiction or disengage attack. Is this WAD? I think undo function should be grey out in these circumstances otherwise it just leads to gamey behaviour.

Thoughts?

I agree. Either grey out the undo button ( optimal ) or have the undo function perform nothing when clicked ( confusing ). I've seen occasions where I'm testing a scenario for some reason or the other and I do an undo under the circumstances you mentioned and the undo button did nothing at all when I clicked on it. No changes were noticed at all. Confusing.

I think that should be an option to disable the undo button (only I use it ,as Larryfulkerson, testing battles). And if it is available (ON), can return two o three actions (would be nice to test). Regards.

I don't know there should be an option to disable it during PBEM games. But sometimes it happens that you just click on the wrong hex or you move by mistake the wrong unit. In many cases it's not cheating, just correcting a mistake. it's aproblem only when you discover some enemy units you didn't see before

A mistake needs to be allowed to be remedied. Leave it as is, or make 'Allow Undo' or 'Disable Undo' an option.

I'm not saying to remove undo, it just should be limited in some circumstances to prevent gamey behaviour.

My unit triggered enemy air interdiction, just press undo, move it again, and again, until it reaching destination safely. Do you think this kind of usage is reasonable? The same way disengagement and reveal enemy hidden units.

I'm confused. When playing a PBEM game just agree to no undo. Run the playback from your opponents turn. If your opponent used undo you can hear a beep. Is it really necessary to change this?

If your opponent does it again and again it will beep like an alarm clock.

Hell no. Anyone that would spend their gaming time that way is a complete loser. Playing that way in a solitaire scenario is ridiculous, and as Mr. Panama said, in pbem its very detectable.

As in real battles, the error is part of the war. If I'm wrong to touch the mouse, it's like I gave the wrong orders (and I have to live with it). When I play seriously (not as a test), I never use the undo button (once accidentally I touch the Z key and I didnt know how to apologize to my opponent(El Cid)).
The War is full of setbacks... and they can not translate in a computer game.. if we can use our mistakes to translate them into the game... so lets do it.
We all want the game look a lot like reality... except when we were wrong to give an order?!. Why?. Something as simple to cancel the undo botton to reflect a little reality is not done. Why the movements have that to be completely accurate?.
Another thing that I sometimes think es that all units (friend and enemy) can attack... not only the enemy unit (including artillery)... I read many times, in the battles, the frindly fire (in Italy was a constant with the artillery). In our game does not happen (the attacks are 100% accurate).
And There are other points more in TOAW on this kind of subject but I think that is for another post.
(I m sorry for my English... Regards all).

That's great - another satisfied customer!

Just don't suggest that your ideas/theories/wims be imposed on all players, thanks.

In the beginning, let's face the truth lads, we all used the "reece" Undo... ;) But it's very "unsoldatisch" and yeah, gamney. And in a PBEM match, well, like Panama said, it would sound like a Jerry Springer show *beep*, *beep*,... the Undo gamey opponent alarm that is :D

I agree what the Cavalliere and Uncle Larry said; a simple option, perhaps in the .ini file to enable/disable it for PBEM or in general would do the trick. I am sure RT can write a line of code and then we all can concentrate on playing the game.

Well, back to work and finishing my today's load of content and localization and the creation of my "Blitz" scenario about State Farm 79...

No, please... I dont want that... only I want to have the option, in this case, to choose, with my opponent, the option enabled or disabled on the undo button (only I have wanted to express how I feel about the issue). Regards.

Note also that you can undo only the last move and only if haven't selected any other unit before. So unless you do the gamey recon trick yuo can only undo misclicks, if you don't correct it immediatly then you have to stick with it. So somehow the mistaken orderes are still contemplated
