I don't care too much for this new Plimus thing for purchases. It just crashed FireFox while trying to make my purchase.

Started FF back up and it looks like it took my order. Guess I need to make sure I'm not going to be double charged. Never had this problem with Digital River.

Not only that but the bandwidth is slow as molasses. Much slower than DR.

It really puts paid to the idea of "impulse buy" and "download version", when the delivered version is almost as fast (ok I am slightly exagerating).

Case in Point, 2130 last night I was about to head to bed and thought, boy I think I might give WiTE a shot, wouldn't mind to start reading the manual in bed (on an iPad).

Ok paid fine. Download speed = 96KB/s - capped - I assume as it never really fluctuated. Time over 3 hours! Meanwhile I download the latest Nvidia drivers at 900KB/s ~ 10 times faster and stable and I didn't pay Nvidia 1 cent for their bandwidth.

Suffice to say I was well asleep before even the 1/2 way point.

So Matrix please pony up the few extra cents to let Plimus give us some decent bandwidth (if that is the problem).

S.

I'm getting about 230KB/s right now downloading Star Sentinel Tactics....still slower than DR.

I hope Primus gets better otherwise I might as well just do mail order.

Hmm, I just purchased the Battlefield Academy expansion pack using Firefox and had no problems.

I D/L WitE on the alternative link and I got 915kbs. I'm happy, even though I never had any problems with DR!

Well, just tried again to buy a game with this Plimus cr@p. After entering address and clicking on NEXT button it hung and gave me a time out.

Had to start over again and finally got it to take my order.

This is really getting old....

I think I'm going to limit my purchases from Matrix from now on.

No more impulse buys....just maybe games I really know I want....which doesn't look like many for 2011.

I just purchased the DW expansion pack and my Firefox browser crashed as well whilst attempting to transfer me from PayPal back to the download screen. I opened Thunderbird next, and the confirmation email had arrived, letting me download and note down my serial. Did get a bit of sweat on my forehead, though...

I mentioned this in the WITE forums under Tech Support that since the change to new website and change to Plimus, I have had to use IE8 to download two game from Matrix because trying to do it on Firefox has not worked well for me.  I never used to have issues with using Firefox but now I do.  We couldn't figure out what was wrong with it except that it might have something to do with add-ons.

Hi guys,

It's worth noting that we have been fixing and improving things behind the scenes together with Plimus every week since the store went online. So if you had an issue with download speed (which has been further improved) or downloads with IE (also fixed) please give it another try. If the issue persists, please let us know and we'll make sure it's part of our daily discussions with them. We have an active partnership with Plimus and we are working together to continue making improvements until we are all happy.

Regards,

- Erik
