Anyone know how we can get Distant worlds on filefront. They have Star Trek fleet command. So it would be good if we could get Distant worlds and it would also lift the profile of DW on Filefront.

I suppose it's worth a try. I'll see what I can do.

I'm not familiar with the Tholians, but they have some crazy looking ships!

Btw what does TRSE stand for?

TRSE stands for, The Romulan Star Empire. I made this mod when I was only going to release one ship set, the Romulans. It's grown quite a bit since then. I'm actually planning on superseding this mod eventually with a Picard era mod and a Riker/Sisko/Janeway/ mod.

They're extremely xenophobic, isolationists. I believe they're also hermaphorditic(SP?). They each have both male and female organs. They live in temperatures of over 177 degrees C.

Their ships are indeed very strange. I made all their civilian ships including the construction ships the same star shape but with different colours. It was a bit lazy on my part, but it makes sense for the Tholians who appreciate precision.

Here's one of them :-

NO! Janeway was the worst captain ever! Voyager had it's moments, but was the weakest of the ST series IMO.

DS9 was a good series, but was a slow burner, you have to give it a chance.

If you're looking to watch some Star Trek, I'd recommend Enterprise. It was sort of slow in Season 1, Season 2 was a bit wonky, Season 3 was different but fun, Season 4 was very good (apart from the finale).

Of course you should also watch some Enhanced TOS. They did a great job touching it up. It's classic stuff.

TNG was the best series though for consistently good writing. Cant' beat that for good ST.

Janeway the worst?!?  Voyager was cool, only problem was its cruddy ending, that was probably written in 5 minutes flat

DS9 was my least fav series, because for some reason the actors in that series really get on my nerves.  Odo and that chief O Brian guy are both extremely annoying, the Doc is the most boring plain guy in ST, the Cap is okay but doesn't have a stand out personality like the other Caps, the only character with some... character, is that Ferangi dude.  I know this will sound like Sacrilage to some, but B5 was way better than DS9

I've seen every episode of Enterprise up to where they save Earth, its a good series, don't know why it didn't have that good of a rep, the Captain is a great actor too.

We all have our own likes and dislikes. I just found Janeways decision making to be very questionable. Just badly written, the finale didn't surprise me at all. Voyager flies a couple of loop-de-loops around the hapless borg cubes and then surfs home to victory. It had some really great episodes though and the Doc was a great character.

Babyon 5 is by far the best sci-fi series in terms of character arc. I've all 5 seasons on DVD.

Give DS9 a chance, it's a really fun show. It doesn't have the serious edge that Babylon 5 had, so I don't really try to compare the 2. The doctor gets more interesting as well. And it had Garak.

I draw the line at you not liking the Chief. Who doesn't like O'Brian? Salt of the earth that man.

LOL....sorry Footslogger, imaginary explosive devices don't work in the Briar Patch!

Plus, Igard's miscue is due to excessive consumption of Romulan Ale over the weekend!

You're not wrong there!

It's important to mention that this mod doesn't use the Mechanoid or Shakturi race, so always remember to uncheck the story option for RotS at the games victory conditions screen.

I'm glad you posted that. That answers the PM I just sent you after looking over the mod.
Thanks for the clarification. If you plan to also adapt your mod for the other two races
PM me. I probably have good info for you.

You saw that explosion! Similar to what a World Destroyer does. I wouldn't dare
wish that on ANY Romulan.....Breen, maybe.....Gorn, oh Hell Yes!

I actually liked the Enterprise series, and even got my wife into it with their more general approach. Joleen Carter was also HOT!!

My favorite ST movie was First Contact because of the epic war with the Borg and the exploration of the origins of Warp Drive for the Federation. (Don't get me started on Generations)

Awesome Mod !!!
I really like the Star Trek theme that you made… Its Great!!!

The only thing I can't figure out is that for some reason your flagshapes won't show up when I start a new game. Otherwise the Mod is outstanding.
Thanks.

Thanks for the positive feedback, EisenHammer.

The game unfortunately doesn't support modding the flagshapes, so you have to replace the ones from the vanilla game. Not ideal, but the options there for anyone to use it. Instructions :-

Installing optional flag shapes:-

1.Backup your 'Matrix Games/Distant Worlds/images/ui/flagshapes' folder
2.Copy 'flagshapes' folder from the Star Trek mod folder.

So that's why… I guess I should read the first post better.

I hope Elliot will add modding of the flagshapes soon, as I don't want to replace the ones already in the game.

Igard could you please post your Borg Cube for DL or send me a PM with a link to it?  I know its probably hopeless, but I want to have a play with trying to either a) get it bigger, or b) get every other ship smaller using semi transparent pixels.

I'll post it here for access for anyone who wants it.

Here's a link to the tech support thread where I posted some results and Elliot explains how the game scales the ships :-

After unzipping this mod to my Customise folder I get an error (Unhandled Exception, I think) when I try to change themes to it. I am then unable to change themes back to the default. To clear the problem out, I have to uninstall the game, manually delete the DW folder AND clean the registry. What's happening? I have tried this three times with the same results. I have no problems using the Diverse Worlds mod.ANd yes, I am using ROTS with the beta patch 1501.

Let me look into this, solops. I haven't changed themes yet since adding the extra shipset folder, so that could be the cause.
