Objectives status (September 16, 1919):

Tons of engagement points - and nowhere to spend them, really.

Morale is barely hanging on to above 100 - it dipped down to 92 when Komuch forces got annihilated.

1919, Late September:

Siberian troops overrun Red vanguard by Saratov; Green uprising in Tashkent is done with.

I had a lapse of judgment - the force sent to take Saratov was pure artillery. Bad idea.

Saratov front (October 16, 1919):

I am going to have to bring my infantry from Pokrovsk east to Uralsk (to resupply) and my artillery from Burasy north to Penza (to recover).

Simbirsk front (October 16, 1919):

Red forces: a corps stack with 2 divisions (~500 elements), three smaller detachments

Green forces: the rebellion seems to have died out, but my ships spotted a new complement of a few regular troops with a leader

White forces: besides garrisons and a scouting task force on the left, I have an infantry and a cavalry corps (~650 elements), but they are both in need of rest.

1919, Late October:

Mixed results by Simbirsk, as both sides exchange deadly hits. Both my and enemy troops are clearly exhausted.

In Siberia, one partisan detachment vanishes, and another one appears.

In Middle Asia, second to last Red city falls.

1919, November:

Both my and enemy troops are still very much exhausted, and any contact that takes place sees at least one side retreating.

Several repeated attempts to recruit among prisoners have failed. I am guessing it's because the 1,300 Green prisoners are listed before the 14,400 Red ones - the game sees that 1,300 is below the needed 5,000, and does not bother to check the following values.

1919, Early December:

The entire country is engulfed in fighting - Reds lose 17,000 men this turn alone.

Properly supported and reequipped armored trains and artillery take Saratov. None of the 5,000 Red defenders even get a shot out in return.

Partisan uprising near Irkutsk is taken care off.

Somewhat rested, White troops assault Reds near Simbirsk and route them.

My Southern "friends" are starting to get active; they take Tambow.

Simbirsk front (December 16, 1919):

Red forces up top have been pushed out to a land with no supplies. I am considering pushing west there to Cheboksary rather than chase them; I will cut off their last means of getting food, and cold winter will finish the work for me.

Kolchak and a swarm of Turkmen cavalry start to dissipate the remnants of Green Volga uprising.

The Red stack has no supply units - and 2 level 1 cities can't feed 6 regiments for long... still, I think I should push north before Reds escape.

This is a major who-knows-what. Ukrainians have taken some White land. Reds devoured some Ukrainian holdings. Greens are gaining and losing all over. And just Anarchists are content sitting still.

1919, Late December:

Green uprising in the Volga area has been put down.

Stalin's Red stack is uprooted in Saratov region, and forced to retreat to Balakovo - the last of the 5 towns in that area that communists still control.

Semenov's cossacks take Arzamas, wiping out its untrained defenders.

I am starting to run very low on supply trains due to depot construction despite constant additions of British aid and successful captures from Reds and Greens.

Arzamas - Saransk front (January 16, 1920):

My plan here is to hold ground for a little while and rebuild my supply lines. Soon my Volga army would be able to turn north - I am not pushing down to Astrakhan - and Moscow offensive can begin.

1920, Late January - Early February:

Siberian troops are organizing around the Arzamas - Cheboksary line, rallying together armored trains, infantry. Semenov falls back for recovery.

Savelev's corps is sent northward from Volga; however once it crosses Saransk on its way to Arzamas, it comes under constant Red barrage. It truly seems that communist forces are rebuilding quite quickly: I just spotted two brand new divisions coming my way with commanders that I did not recognize.

It is starting to be all about Moscow: Siberia and Middle Asia are silent and subdued, Volga area is under control, and my Southern friends are still managing to contain the Green plague that they themselves have spawned through non-stop conscription and taxation.

Nizhnyi' Novgorod is taken.

Virtually every unit not busy with garrison duty is now in the Arzamas area - including Ural and Turkmen units.

Siberian Liberation forces manage to converge on a massive Red stack at Murom and inflict heavy casualties to it. Unfortunately, my CO dies in the battle (even though the screen does not show it).

These are not ones you want to face on the battlefield if you can help it - they got a lot of target practice in the last year and a half.

More scuffles at Yuzha, a small, previously nameless field west of Nizhnyi Novgorod. I decided to build a depot there - might as well, if Reds continue to fight tooth and nail for it.

Upper Volga:

Almost as an afterthought, White gunboats are deployed along Upper Volga estuaries. They quickly chase away Red ships (courtesy of their poor morale much more so than superior odds) and (hopefully) cut off 2 Red divisions for the summer.

As Siberian Whites did not have destroyers in their fleet, here's DD Bespokoinyi from the Southern Whites ranks to give a visual of what Red forces at Kostroma are looking at right about now :)

Siberian forces deliver a crushing blow to Red armies by Saransk and Nizhnyi Novgorod; Vladimir falls to Komuch Kappel division. White gunboats on Volga are assaulted in several skirmishes, one is reported lost.

Volga Army is now free to move, and Red forces by Semenov are so weak, I can leave a corps behind and march on. I may even attempt an armored train raid of Moscow.

Red stack west of Nizhnyi Novgorod is destroyed, but the raid on Moscow is a mixed blessing. While it helped my morale, it did hurt to lose every single armored train I had left - that's the price of pride, I suppose.

Communist destroyers arrive south from Petrograd, dislodging mine. I may have to invest in shore batteries.

Production queue:

Since I just discovered the building button, my production has been slow: there is only a single light infantry regiment that's already been deployed in addition to units shown.

Also, note the brutal cost of the Moscow raid - last turn I had nothing but white numbers for all the primary factions (i.e., little to no reinforcement required), save for French and Japanese - I am still unsure if they will be sticking around, so why bother?
