PAD152, I like the third choice on your wish list, for sure, and I can think of one scenario that would be tops: the intense effort of the Axis to neutralize Malta in March-April 1942 in order to supply Rommel's forces in North Africa.

Was the pilot training below 5k fixed?? I had planes that were set for LowN training at 2k actually training up in NavB.

Still to come.

Today I was running some tests of fighter bombers strafing and bombing at low levels. I noticed that unless bombing at 100 or 1000 feet the fighter bomber pilots gained no skill at low ground bombing but gained regular bombing skill instead. That is, fighter bombers attacking at 2000 feet would gain skill in regular bombing. Is this related to the above or is is working as designed. If it is to be changed then I want to suspend my tests until so.

Thanks,

similar issue. I start the war rapidly training up ASW squadrons at 100' but I seem to be aquiring an awful lot of good strafers at the moment. I will be able to decorate the tin cans beautifully with machine gun fire graffiti but won't have a hope of finding them at this rate. Is the patch to correct this due soon(ish).

have to say though, great support all round.

Chris

Was the search arc issue (planes just searching a random sector rather than the one specified) fixed?

And what about the lack of deck guns on allied subs. Was this fixed?

I am playing a game using the patch and I notice a potential bug when I am reviewing the list of air units at a base.

If I click on an air unit to get a detailed view, when I click back I get a view of all air units, not just the ones at that base. If I click back again, I get the air base list.

Is this a change or a bug?

Thanks, Keith

yes, search arcs are fixed

063. Fixed Search arcs seem to be generated in reverse sequence. This varies depending on the size and angles of the search sector. Added anti-/clockwise option to search arc on group screen due to confusion when large sectors being assigned

I'm in August 20-22, 1942, these last few turns and I keep getting "Wright, F.N." as reassigned in the messages at the end of turn.

Actually, it does it with all three air groups and it still does it if it is in a TF.

We are having a computer hardware issue which is delaying completion of the patch but hope to have that resolved in a day or so ...

I'm still getting strange behavior on the part of some air units.

I ordered my 4 Wellington squadrons at Silchar to ground attack Jap units at Lashio. They changed target on their own and bombed Prome. This has not happened before I used the Beta.

I'm also still getting the "Wright, F.N." reassigned message (3rd turn in a row now).

This is an issue with how the the different screen calls are tracked. It is a cumbersome because it isn't really a Windows based system.
Most screens are okay but some lose track of where it is up to. Fix one and the other breaks

Were they trying to ground attack units units in a base owned by you?

We found a problem under those circumstances from memory.

Along the same line, at the end of the first turn (scen 2, Japan vs AI, no change in orders), I get that at the end of the Combat Event report...

AIR UNIT REPLACEMENT PHASE
7th BG/9th BS detachment COMBINING at San Francisco
19th BG/32nd BS detachment COMBINING at San Francisco

Now, I'm very happy to hear that, but I suspect this is unintended.

Confirmed. It does CTD.

Something about the groups on ship being withdrawn. Not sure why this has not cropped up before.

Yes, I also have units in Lashio (it's an Allied base). This switching did not happen before this Beta patch. Fairly large Japanese set of units are also present (and have been for a couple weeks now).

This is happening because a different bug has been fixed in 1108 which was hiding it.

Is this patch available?  Can't seem to find it anywhere in the members section.

Also, is the issue with the USN subs been fixed in this?

Anyone else having a problem resizing non UK airgroups on the British CV's?
When I try to resize the Canadian airgroup, the cursor vanishes.

The Canadian unit eventually did change after 14 days of gameplay.
The vanishing cursor was strange.

Just want to say that adding the LCU re-build for PP is a GREAT addition to the game.  removes all of that gamey save a device of a unit for later rebuild.

Thanks for the great ongoing support.

A few problems I'm still seeing:

It is August 28th, 1942, and I have the patch applied. I am Allies, computer is IJ.

1. IJN surface bombardment group tried to approach PH. This has at least Haruna and Yamato. AI is still trying these dumb surface attacks.
2. In China in hex just NE of Hankow, IJA has been pushing in one small brigade (which I promptly push back with my 4 Chinese corps) for the past 4 weeks at least. The AI just seems to cycle this move. The patch did not change this behavior.
3. IJN attempts air raids by Air Combat TFs on Koepeng and Port Moresby, leading to the chewing up of his Val and Kate units. This has increased since patch. I doubt the IJN would have wasted its valuable carrier air units on base attacks. (Port Moresby, e.g., was hit by Akagi from Bismarck Sea).

I don't think this stuff can be fixed without a lot of basic research. We don't even know why humans decide to fight a battle or to avoid it. Coming up with a reasonable plan that leads to a viable battle is a meta problem and much harder. Be glad the bear dances as well as it does.
