We've been very close now for about 2 months. There is just one issue left and we want to make sure it works. At this point it seems to be pretty well fixed.

Good Hunting.

Just curious from a non-programer point of view; but what is the "One Issue"?

The one issue is now fixed.

But now we added a whole new vegetation system which needs to be fine tuned.

Nope. A whole new crop of problems could sprout.
I think I have time to add one more model.

I think I have time to add at least 2 demo scenarios. But you know, back in the days when I was with CSDT, I used to send Warmonger 2 or 3 scenarios a day to playtest for me. So, I don't think me putting them together will take long. Now me getting the rest of the team to recognize scenario design genius when they see it could take some time.......

Since PC:OWS and PC:K were early war programs I think I'll go late war with the demo scenarios.

Good Hunting.

CSDT made a bunch of GREAT
Seelow Heights Pack
Barbarossa Scenario Pack

Boots and Tracks
The Kursk Pack

Done by another group, The "Peiper's "Blowtorch" Battalion" series was GREAT too!

I visited the Combined Arms: WWII thread today and that game has been in development for over 11 years now. At least you guys seem to be moving faster than they are!

Did somebody mention Seelowe?

Hmmmm....it's been awhile since I visited that location.

Wonder if I can find it again...possibly for a demo scenario.

There was a CSDT scenario covering the battle at Diedersdorf. Now where did I put that scenario? I can never find them when I need them!

Good Hunting.

We're actually slowing down. Not much left to do at this stage but make sure everything works as advertised and make sure to the best of our abilities that all the old material works as well since we are not only updating the series but trying to keep all the original content still in working order.

Good Hunting.

Panzerman and Warmonger where the star designers in the Seelowe Heights pack offered by CSDT. That was right after I had bought CMBB and barely knew what an editor was. There's a rumor that CSDT - A Brief Visit to a Church was redone as HSG KH A Brief Visit To A Church. That was one of my favorite ASL scenarios and I just had to try to replicate it in CMBB. The Puma Prowls was another one.

Who knows maybe some of those old classic ASL scenarios may end up here in PCO. You never know.

Good Hunting.

I might actually get ramped up about this approaching again. Even despite my aversion to WW2 right now.

Man, that link brought back some memories!

Alot has changed since then. In some ways alot has stayed the same as well. 2 out of the 3 of us that were in CSDT when it closed are still working together. We still do historically based scenarios for tactical games so I guess the evolution continues.

Good Hunting.

MR,
I'll add that the CSDT scenarios play extremely well, even after all those years. They are very appreciated and gave new insight to the very passages we read in books. Then the HSG scenarios continued the tradition of excellence. It is one thing to read about a battle from the perspective of the participants, but then to play out the action in a game gives you a whole new perspective, especially seeing things on a map that is designed to recreate as close as possible the actual area of the encounter. I fully expect PCO will provide many more instances of this.

Can you tell us are there going to be any randomly made maps in this version? If not will there be some easier way to make maps? I hate playing on the same maps. I could hardly believe they made random battles and random campaigns and didn't include random map building abilities?

No random maps, but it is very easy to make a new map and there are many new maps in the rotation as well.

How's about a little humor:

I consulted my Mayan Calendar and think December 21, 2012 is the release date.

Well, I'm not asking for a exact release date, but are we talking about weeks or months? Not that it matters much, since I prefer a polished late release over a unpolished early release. Is May 2011 a realistic date?

Back in October we thought weeks. We still think weeks.
