Yes, but there will be more changes soon to make FW190 usage more historical (as in: you'll see fewer FW190's until late 1942-1943).

Don't know how the game models them, but as well as the fighter version not being that common on Eastern front, their strong points didn't show as well there either. Unlike in the West, most Russian planes operated at quite low altitude where the FW 190 didn't shine. Might be better to keep your JGs with 109s if you have them, even if FW are available.

The FW190 strong point was low altitude performance, that of the ME109, climb rate and better high altitude performance.

190 was a low to medium altitude fighter with superior roll rate, the 109 was more of a high altitude fighter...

They were used at high altitude mostly as bomber interceptors (with more armour slapped on them)

190a was pretty match perfect plane for Boom & Zoom tactics for its glory days. Good dive, superior roll rate and four 20mm cannons with two bb guns. Its zoom climb is pretty decent too. I like it on flight sims. :)

Yes, a former pilot tough. I havent had an active sub for a while.
I used to be in squad: JG52 and ground stuff i did with the fellow Fins with Lagus.
I still lurk in both forums though.

You're quite right, don't know where that got lodged in my head from.

Problem is that fighters and fighter bombers are different categories that can't cross over in most cases and since there are only a few ground attack units, as they are presently, there will always be a glut of FW190As. I'm not sure if there will be a glut of later versions though, plus I'm under the impression that if you convert to FW190s, you can't convert back, say to Henschels or Me110s/Me410s or Ju87 tank busters. Maybe I have the wrong impression?
