Trying to use my head for getting information you grog's want to see When I look at a screen I like to know certain things, and thinking I am a normal player (whatever the hell that means)I try and put that in my screen shots because my storytelling skills are not up to snuff

I'll let you do all the innovative thinking then 'steal' your ideas...mwahahahah!

Steal away good sir, I will get you later

Well turn 21 and the Mud is over for now. As expected my opponent was very passive, only attacking in 2 hexes and they were both push back on my turn. I am trying to get maps together for my offensive, may not finish due to the late hour, we will see. Here is northwest front.

This should be very interesting as my opponent has has a long time to dig in and pick his spots. I have had time to organize my forces and should be about as ready as I can be when the time comes. And before anyone asks, no I am not attacking with the cav divisions until they combine in December

Red Arrows are the follow on attack by the reserves.

Kharkov, now you can see where my priority lies, farther north If he would have attacked me down here it would have been a disaster.

We are currently testing a version that delays this rule until May 1942.

Man don't do that, I just figured out that I can do it

Why are they changing it if you don't mind me asking? I am assuming it is a balancing issue

I think it is to better reflect when the SU historically started reorganising the brigades into divisions - I'm trying to track the post down, but I think there was a consensus of approval from the Red Army experts (I'm not one of them)

I have to laugh a bit about the "weak fronts" part. There isn't a Axis in sight of those 30 units you have down south near the coast of the Sea of Azov.

One thing I learned the hard way is that just because you can't see them doesn't mean they are not there
Paranoia goes with the position in this game

Bowling night tonight so I got in late, turn 23 really has nothing to report. Another snow turn and the Germans are digging in with just a screen in front of me. Next turn i will probably press up even if the weather isn't blizzard, in some areas for sure. Will do a major update tomorrow after the next turn.

The weather can be tricky; for 1941, blizzard good for Soviets, plain old snow good for Axis.

Yeh sure, maybe for you.

I got to go to work early and my opponent is on the west coast so i am getting the turns late in the evening.

Anyway we had another turn (24) of snow and the German player pulled back from some positions I don't think he should have, and I have moved up my reserve armies close to the front where I want to attack. I am holding the turn so I can post full screen shots tomorrow when I get home and show you the coiled spring that is the red army I have 489 infantry divisions with over 4 million men, and over 4000 AFV's although alot of older ones. He needed to do alot more damage to me in the summer I think but if the game plays right he should hold up better because he dug in. We shall see.

Anyway off to bed.

That Rumanian cavalry division seems to be on it's lonesome for a 40-60 mile wide gap.  That's an area to look at.

Overall my buildup for this offensive and the organization seemed ok, considering i was hardly attacked for a full month so I could pretty much prepare in peace knowing I was going to be safe from spoiling attacks. Think that was a mistake by my opponent. He could have dug in while making my front line units bleed and retreat. Just my opinino though.
I am doing these as I go so they will take a while to post.
Leningrad front. Am not trying to break thru here, due to the terrain, but if I do that's OK too.

Volkhov Front, added an army to this HQ to try and advance behind Germans at Leningrad. If nothing else it will make him pull units back to cover this front.

Your opponent hasn't waged an air war as good as other people; 2300 Axis planes lost near the end of 1941? That's not good.

My general advice would be to attack in overwhelming numbers; get 3 hexes worth of units onto 1 hex.  You also want to bypass Axis in swamps/roughs until you can surround them, or force your opponent to move them back to avoid being surrounded.  Not sure if the blizzard allows or eliminates the D bonus.
