I thought "punishing difficulty" should be placed in Good, not in Bad.

Indeed, on Hard AI does put up a struggle, but I feel rewarded, not punished when it does so :)

I think the problem level of difficulty is on Easy, rather than on hard. If you are not the kind of player that appreciates a difficult game, and expects to win on easy within the first couple of games, you may be disappointed. If you are the kind of player who appreciates a difficult game, then this would become a positive. I tried to make that clear in the text.

Personally, I enjoy the difficulty, even if it means I lose a lot.

I intend to make the "Easy" level easier in the next patch by capping the Roman recruiting more tightly.

I will also include an addendum to the manual which will include a few pointers to help new players with the tactical battle system. I think that this might help some new players.

That in an excellent idea. I am really happy to see that the developers are still involved and active in supporting the game.

If you can't tell from the review, I enjoy the game immensely. I think making easy mode easier might pull some more people into the fold.
