I'm just glad copious quantities of local anesthetics were involved

To be honest we weren't sure there was anything in there for a couple of weeks. As you said the infection and some of the swelling had to go away first. By Sunday it was evident to me there was something still there because the original wound site was getting more purple and swollen. I called them Monday, they took care of me Wednesday morning. There was a large quantity of local anesthetics involved (thank goodness).

I think you've earned yourself a beer Bruce!

I guess you DO know that taking anesthetics (read "some stiff drinks") afterwards is perfectly ok and part of the recovery process?

Better 1300 than to have the house blow up.  Unless it is leaking Carbon Monoxide.  Either way is bad.

If only the RAF ground crews would have been able to fix said machines, they wouldn't have needed animal labor to move the planes around...

Hi all,

Well it's been a busy week.

The highlight was the orthopedic surgeon removing a 3/8 inch long (that's about 9 to 10 millimeters) long piece of wood from my finger. It got in there back on December 31 during yard work

Finger OK now Bruce?

Thats industry standard for "creative performance in impromptu uttering of things that are untrue or only half true in order to instill panic and thus make audience more receptive to the concept of parting with vast amounts of currency".

The lesson I have learned from this is never never never do yard work without wearing a really good pair of work gloves.

Dude. Totally the wrong lesson. My take home lesson 'wood' have been that it's bad form to jam a piece of 3/8" dirty wood into one's body. But that's just me, I guess.

ETA: Glad you're doing better, dude.

The important factor that you're missing here is that the word is actually spelled labour

Also, the Corsair was operated by the Fleet Air Arm and was thus the responsibility of Royal Navy ground crews to fix and maintain. So your attempted dig at RAF ground crews has fallen flat due to your shoddy historical knowledge There's also the fact that the RAF did not have base forces, although I believe I am correct when I say that the Royal Navy did maintain several. So there's another coming your way

I wish we still had an Empire though, the possibility of joing the military as an elephant handler is an interesting one

in other news......my long lost friend "one upya" commented to me the other day after my announcement of winning Triglyceride Lotto, "only 435??!! Hell....i had a rating of 699!!!!.....till i started taking Fish cod oil." (or some other similar product)

Given that anything over 150 means "Future cardiac event" (a quaint new doctor term for "Sieze up and expire") in all likelyhood, i think this is one comparison i'm happy to let him have.....

Dude! What the hell do you eat?

Its mainly hereditary. Even on lipitor and staying away from red meats and sweets, my dad's T levels are twice what they should be. Brother has similar issues and now it's my turn. Granted, my diet is not the best in terms of quality. I've eliminated any bad meat fast food trips for lunch due to lazyness in not buying the stuff to prepare my own which should help. GF unit and I have started hitting Whole Foods, a major organic produce chain around here. The meats and stuff they have there are really high quality but also very expensive. Oh well.....price of living better. At least the doctor didnt' tell me i needed to give up BEER!

How my friend "one upya" got 699....or whether it's true or not.....i couldn't tell you but i have a friend at work who's sister had a T level so high it was quote "Off the scale"

It seems to me that "THE THREAD" is simply a place where friends can communicate about their daily lives across widely disparate time zones. So who really cares what the subject line says, as long as it doesn't violate Matrix forum policy?

As long as people get upset about the subject line, I am sure that Nik finds it funny to reset it. If people were to just continue along with their posts and ignore the subject line I would bet that he would stop. It stops being funny when people stop reacting...

Wow....insightful.

I see from your quoting of Terminus that he continues to hurl fat insult references in my direction while complaining about subject reset changes not being funny. Priceless.

A green button was never better invested.

I'm actually for one of those rare moments in my life agreeing with Terminus. Enough's enough Nik. Jokes over. Now your just being annoying as hell.

Dude! You're letting something as trivial as this actually annoy you? Don't do it!

Its all good with me.....frankly if everyone had stood up long ago as a collective on this "Thread" and said....."ok Nik.....we really really really would like you to stop doing that" then I certainly would have. It's kind of funny how it's evolved into a game of sorts, including the use of Fabers. However the only one who's really had a problem with it is Steve.....and of course Terminus, however in his case i don't really give a flying **** given the hypricrite sees no problem in continually calling me "Tubsy" and "Fatty" whilest refusing to put his money where his fat fingers are and show all of us his svelt in shape body, not to mention basically calling me a liar when i gave my actual weight last year. No one likes to be called fat, but i have a pretty thick skin.....certainly i've been called worse in my time. However one thing i can't stand is hyprocracy and i won't stand by any longer and be Fischer's tool for his own personal issues.

Since at least one albeit infrequent voice says our long standing can't get no respect wooden diety is annoying......fine, if all the Thread regulars are THAT annoyed just say so and he will go join Seti, Anubis and all the other discarded dieties.

I don't really mind. To me it's just another game. And to be honest, as somebody mentioned, it's also an excuse to faber up my postcount

I don't mind either guys. We are all friends here. This is just another harmless game to play and one that I actually get enjoyment from.

well ok then......glad we got that little mess cleared up.

Now all i need is a winning set of Mega Millions numbers....then i can buy myself a cyborg heart with plastacine arteries and say "screw the T levels!"
Capt. Picard just LOVED his artificial heart after all.

There is only one true THREAD, and Brother Nik knows it. He just tries to pretend otherwise.

All Glory to THE THREAD!!!

All Glory to wood!

You know you love it in the morning.......

Sure. But it makes it difficult to pee in the morning.

Yuri, you just need to get a little "help" with that situation.

In my case....the "Help" is a sponge and some bathroom cleaner. Guess there is a downside to "Morning wood"

Yes.....and now that i'm at home i can tell you who the cheap-o's are...."ATT MOBILITY" (Coffee was probably the last perk to go......the only one left now is TP provided for the bathrooms.....we have a pool going on when that'll go and we have to start bringing in our own)

The part that really pisses off the workforce is that we get announcements like the above, for reasons of cost and then days later we get yet another quarterly report card email announcing mounds of financial success in meeting the goals and in one case, 'record profits' Managers litterally cringe when leadership pulls that.

and with all that success.....they can't even provide cheap ass coffee that makes Starbucks seem like some of JWE's Javarian brew. Guess the CEO needed another corporate Jet or something. I keep dreaming of the day when i finally get a bite on the job market and can just quit.....with 2 minutes notice.

and don't get me started on the big I.T. fiasco recently.

i just discovered yesterday afternoon one of our three furnaces has a gas leak as well... when the propane tank went dry...

The furnace in the (heated) barn is the culprit, so at least we have heat in the house.

Dixie (with apologies to non-British who won't understand the following), but that picture
brings to mind a famous episode of Blue Peter

I hope the ground Crew had more control over the elephant than John Noakes!
