BTW, Intel will, predicted by them, loose 700 $ million us 1000 $ million... they found a error in hardware on "Sandy Bridge" new chipsets... they have to recall 8 million already made chipsets... engineering error during design... one transistor was wrongly designed and after prolonged use it would die (the 3 GB SATA ports are affected)...

Wait... is the co-worker saying that someone is madly in love with your GF? Or that the manager is in love with the co-worker??

She was clued in by a co-worker but having met the guy and just in listening to GFU talk about him and their interactions, I can believe it....that and she told me that when i came in to the store on the weekend to say hi to her, he was there and after i left he too took off and "avoided" GFU for the rest of the day.

Normally i'd not be concerned as it's not the first time she's had guys interested in her naturually. What kind of alarmed me though was that this is the first time it's occured with a person she really likes and has alot in common with. I shouldn't be insecure i suppose and i'm not the jelous(tm) type....but still....i'm almost wishing she hadn't told me. GFU has readily admited that had i come to her with a similar situation, she'd be "freaking out and sharpening the kitchen accessories"

It also touches a nerve in me because it presents a situation similar to what occured in my family many moons ago.

I would be surprised if the majority of these type of situations did not occur with people we like and get along well with. Years ago in MN, I had a huge crush on a coworker. We got along great and always had fun around each other, but she also had a "long term fiancee." I eventually mentioned my crush to her, and we actually talked through it and worked it out and remained friends. It doesn't have to be the end of the world if both parties can deal with it, but honestly, I think we were lucky to manage keeping up our friendship.

If something like that happened today, my wife would not have to waste time sharpening knives. She always has surgical scalpels at hand.

Good Martian advice. ;)

Wait a minute....that's how you got your resident alien "green card" on this planet, isn't it?

Not a good idea. LogBoy's throat closes up when he hears the word "marriage"...

Nik I know what works for one couple doesn't always work for another. That being said, this month my wife and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

If you can't do the last one, definitely do 1 and 2 and let her know how you feel.

Morning dudes.

Comrade red mouse:  I had a Blockbuster gift card from two years ago that I hadn't used.  I've been following the company's downward financial spiral somewhat as an impartial observer.  They will probably be 'reorganizing' again before too long.

Anyways, I wanted to make sure I used my gift card before it became worthless, so I went in and scoured their "DVDs for sale" bin.  Some decent titles at 4 for $20, so I got 4xDVDs.  One of them was "Eastern Promises"-came out two years ago.  Got good reviews, IIRC.  Did you see this movie?  Thoughts on authenticity / plausibility?

Excellent movie. Good choice.

We'll have to agree to disagree. "Eastern Promises" is the worst film Viggo Mortensen has ever been in.

Yes....definately different flavours....and as mentioned by wise persons....no guaurentees. My dad's marriage lasted 17 years before an "office rommance" ended it. GF and i have made it to 8 years. We are both not deep into the marriage thing and both us of are against making copies of each other.

We did talk about it and i was honest in that i was not suprised given the info i had gleaned. She gave me a few quizzical looks on a couple comments i made in response to the future but like you'all said....ultimately there has to be trust....and like i told her....it's not like she can quit her job, or like i'm gonna start following her around in suspicion and distrust.

One has to trust in the end.....but part of me still wishes she hadn't said anything as one is left with an unsettled feeling. It's like the time a former roommate made a pass on me and i (as it turns out wisely) declined to mention it to the GFU until AFTER the roommate was history. Sometimes things are better left unsaid.

i'd be more upset with the busy body that gossipped to GFU...not cool, and probably none of his/her business...OTOH, GFU showed a certain level of trust and courage to give you the story...if she truly had feelings for the manager dude, she may not have confided in you, Nik...

Nik,

I apologize for all the fat jokes, and I hope you'll accept that and un-green-button me. It went on to the point where it wasn't funny any more. Sorry.

Will one of you please quote this post so he can see it?

Nik I know what works for one couple doesn't always work for another. That being said, this month my wife and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

If you can't do the last one, definitely do 1 and 2 and let her know how you feel.

I hear ya, Nik. In all seriousness, these are ripe grounds for problems. Communication and trust are the watchwords of the day. Hope things work out well for the two of you.

Sometimes things are better left unsaid.

and further proof that this is serious stuff, logboy didn't do his thing here! maybe it's a complex and twisted plot to cleanse...

Well how lax of me...........no excuses for slackin at work.....esp after an entire dept gets the axe.

anyway....thx for the advice and support guys. Hopefully things will blow over and manager guy will respect the boundries.....otherwise i may have to send the Dobbie out on a contract hit.

I have the ultimate distraction at the moment anyway......have WitE on my drive now. Took my first look last night and was afraid. It's a bit overwhelming. I am really starting to miss the simpicity of having a singular exp value for divisions and brigades. (They assigned seperate exp values for EACH ground device within each unit!)
