So...about ten minutes ago my computer randomly shut down (something wrong with the power cord I think) while I was doing the end-turn save. Meaning of cource that I got the dreaded "save game failed to load" when trying to open up the file again after rebooting.

This after spending roughly 3 hours on my Jap turn (I was finally doing all the pilot-training-reshuffling, after avoiding it for the past three months of game-time). This of cource meant that all progress was lost, and the last backup save I did (I always use two save-slots for each game) was right after watching the combat replay.

Now, 10 minutes later, the turn is done again, and mailed to my opponent. Not much pilot reshuffling done though. Not much of anything done to be honest. In fact, right now all my little pixel-samurais can %¤¤#/&%#¤ off.

Time for todays's racist joke

A businessman from Edinburgh decides that he's getting too stressed by life in the big city and wants to get away from the rat-race.  He sells his house in the city and moves to a remote cabin in the Highlands, the nearest village is almost 15 miles away and there isn't another house within view.  At first he really enjoys the peace, but after a few weeks he's starting to get lonely.  Eventually, one week there's a knock at the door.  When he answers there's a giant hairy figure in a kilt who introduces himself as his neighbour in the next valley over.
"I see you're new to the area, and I thought you might like to come to a party I'll be hosting tomorrow night" says the kilted figure.
"That's great" replies the new arrival, "I've been here for a while and I've not really met anyone yet."
"I do feel it's only fair to warn you though, there's some heavy drinking goes on at these parties."
"No problem, I've experienced some pretty crazy nights out in Edinburgh"
"There's also likely to be some fighting as the night goes on, you know how it is with drink."
"That's not a problem either, I used to box so I can handle myself."
The kilted scotsman goes to leave, but turns round.
"There's one more thing, these parties tend to get pretty sexy you know, there's a good chance of some action if you know what I mean"
"That's great, it's been a while if I'm honest.  So what time should I get there?"
"Any time you like laddie, after all it'll just be the two of us."

Troubling event in NC if you believe animals can predict weather...the groundhogs "Sunshine" and "Stormy" at the NC Zoo Wildlife Rehab Center did not even go outside on Groundhog Day and STILL have not ventured outdoors.

That can't be good if you're in the northern hemisphere and looking forward to an early Spring.

Hi all,

We here have spring!

I kid you not... it is +15 degrees Centigrade in shadow...

Until few days ago it was below 0 degrees centigrade during night and around 0 degrees Centigrade during day wit low clouds lying every single day...

Oh. By the way, since it's your first time here and all...it's important for you to know this: we're all insane. Every last one of us.

Fair warning.

You are being rather kind I think.

Considering that CB likes to feel up ducks and Per fancies moose, I think you may be right.

Having seein "sir Robin" mentioned quite a lot on this forum i have to ask: What kind of strategy is it?

Think Monty Python and the Holy Grail... "Brave Sir Robin bravely ran away"

The Sir Robin strategy describes the allied strategy of pulling as many of his troops as possible out of the path of the initial Japanese onslaught, hoping to use those troops to stop a Japanese invasion of Australia and/or India.

Maybe you'd feel better if I told you that since December I've done 8 days at work

What follows is smacktalk jest. All appearances at seriousness should be discounted:

mattep74: The Sir Robin tactic is one that is typically used by pale, weak and limp Allied players that are incapable of mounting an effective defense. It involves wetting one's armor, running away and generally crying to mommy instead of standing and fighting (and dying, of course) like a man. Allied players that use this defense are cowardly peuks, unworthy of command.

Did I miss anything, USS Mike?

Like the fact that Mike and I successfully used it to bite you in the @$$ of several, occassions, and as of early March 1942 are just about tied with you in sunken ships, and pretty close to you in overall score? Why don't you ask the mini-KB how the tactics worked Andre? Oh, that right, you can't! They don't exist any more, do they?

Fighting like a man. That means sneak attacks and jumping your oppponent while swearing that you want peace! HA!

We will dicuss this issue in the summer of 1945 (If not much , much sooner) when you'll be our guests (for dinner) on our flagship in Tokyo bay. Chicken is on the menu!

I've been in similar situations, caused by different things. Something about refusing to give units orders can be satisfying. "You guys screwed me over with the save, so figure it out yourselves today!"

Only that the Imperialist Chickens, er, Japanese are apparently required to get their panties in a bunch and cry about "nobody will come out and play with us."

Other than that, your pretty much spot on, old chap.
