Playing as Human, early mid game colonizing...

O nice a Boskara Planet, Volcanic Rock cool, looks like they are hostile *Sends in some troops to take control*

Researching Volcanic rock colonization right now need to take over that key system to prevent Haakonish control of this sector.
*5 minutes later*

Hmm wtf.. I can colonize volcanic planets??? I dont even have the tech? I knew this game was bugged! Damn it this is just like Armada a waste of money!

Ok w/e ill just colonize this one key system, *sends auto colonize*
*2 minutes later*

Humm? the Boskara Planet is building the colony ship? Damn they dont even have a star-port! Even the colonizing algorithm is mest up, I bet all those people on the forum are really just payed by Eric or w/e his name is, to say all those nice things about the game. Its even worse then i thought.

W/e ill just cancel it and build it manually on my home world,
*2 minutes later*

What the hell!!! I cant even colonize that volcanic planet with my home world's colony ship!! Whats going on here!
*looks at ship panel*

"Can colonize Continental, Marshy Swamp"

Wait a second?... You dont mean that... So the other ship was... And the Volcanic planet...

He he... So, you understand what's going on here, Ares106? It's really nice when you figure out the complexities of this game, but this is one of the more surprised posts I've read in a while.

nice debut Ares, welcome to the game and community
if you post like this in general threads I suspect an AAR is not beyond you...if you want to give it a try I think it could get interesting
i think Erik still pays at least the AAR and modders

Had to read it a couple of times, but funny.

Lordxorn, I'm afraid you won't find Armada much different. No way it will keep your attention like DW or a game like "SR" if you know which one I mean. Best to you!

thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I am no stranger to complexity, Some of my favorite games are Paradox titles.

An AAR is in the works, but what I would really really like to do (given time and help because i have not much experience) is a video AAR, especially in order to attract more players.

About armada, its not a bad game, but it was simply too dry for my tastes.

Yep, it behooves you to assimilate alien races, you gain bonuses from them, being able to colonize without the tech being one of them. Then again, I hate bugs, so it does leave me with a dilemma of sorts...as in do I use them to colonize or do I use the RAID (bombardment) on them?
