Hello,

First let me say that I'm really enjoying DW (or rather, was) :(

When I went to play today the game stops working on the load screen when it gets to 'feeding the giant kaltors' and I get the pop up message and have to close. I tried to uninstall/reinstall but that was no help.

Never mind. Problem fixed. Back to killing the bugs.

Weird the only change I did, that works, was to plug my headphones in to the jack not sure if that fixed it. reinstall etc didn't help previously.
Now the game works again!

I just encountered the same error. No change to the system, one day working - next day not. I cannot get past the loading screens now...

[EDIT/UPDATED] Problem resolved. Error caused due to modding - related to a file not found in the customization folder that it was looking for (in this case a new troop image to match a new race I had added). Note to modders, always change the theme back to default before existing the program. That way changes in the them files can be tested more thoroughly when you reload by using the Change Theme subroutine in the game - which will tell you the line, file name of the offensive file (rather than just an exception notation like the one above).
