I agree; this is a touch and go for both sides. As you can see from the combat report the enemy came in hard and fast! This is going to turn into a looong and hard battle. I will not allow an enemy strong-hold in the middle of our SRA defensive region and unless the situation becomes completely untenable strong land, sea and air assets will be used to defeat the enemy. My question is really how well Andy has thought this through. - Does he have the fuel and supplies and logistics to support a shoe-string operation from Perth? Northern Oz ports are still not fully operational and there's hardly a single port in a 1000 miles that can replenish carriers and capital ship As you have seen from my previous posts much though and consideration has been made on creating a strong and well functioning defensive grid in this region. Andy actually walked _straight_ into my CAP trap region nr 1. The bases in this region were built to provide mutual support and make it difficult for the enemy to close them all down. Behind them are the real "hubs"; Koepang, Kendari, Ambon, Soerabaja. All the units I've extracted from Australia have gone into digging into and garrisoning these areas. Enemy numbers and brute force may still preveal but Andy has now gathered all his eggs in one basket and started a massive battle of attrition. Fighting over friendly turf our elite air groups suffer relatively few fatal casualties and handle the Hellcats rather well. Even if the KB was closer it would have been a very bad idea to force an immediate engagement. Instead the plan was - and is - to fight an attrition battle; LBA vs enemy CAG for 6-8 days. When the enemy has spent his fury and taken losses and is tired we will hurl all the might and fury of the Combined Fleet upon him. AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Sep 19, 43 Surface Combat We sent in light surface units; they succeeded in drawing attention and spending lots of enemy ammo. 2 destroyers are moderately damaged and RTB.
