Hi

I was just checking through the mine manufacturing capabilites of the Japs in scenario 1, and reaslised that they do not have production of type 88 mines. All the subs use type 88 mines. Does that mean that once the initial stockpile of sub mines are used up, the japanese player cannot lay new sub minefields? The initial stockpile is not very big in the first place :(

Or, maybe I am missing something?

For whatever reason there are 2 Japanese Type 88 Mine devices present in AE.
ID# 120 and ID# 1711

The 1711 device has a build rate of 35 per month, so I guess you should get that ammount of mines.

Why there are 2 devices you would have to ask some dev wiz like michaelm, no idea myself.

I remember then saying that for some reason they left a number of the original devices in the data base. There was some problem with taking them out, not sure what it was.

Thanks baron. However I am more confused now, so should I be looking at the device list 119 to 122 or 1710 to 1713?

Also, where does one check the current stockpile of mines still available in the game or in tracker? I saw tracker has a place for minfields, but that does not tell how many mines remain available to oneself.

EDIT: Ah thanks nomad. So I assume one refers to the 1710-1713 list then? :D Yes, more mines :D

Oh yes, since we are on the topic of mines..... Which ship launch the type 3 mines? I saw type 4/93 are minelayers, type 88 are sublaunched, but cannot find the platform that lays the type 3s.......

You can find the number of mines of each type available on the Device/Troops/Resource Pool screen (as well as the build rate for each type). You may know this already, but in case you don't you don't I will mention that your good mine-laying subs are I-121, I-122, I-123, and I-124. They can lay 42 mines at a time, enough to cause problems if you choose your spots carefully.
