ORIGINAL: jomni Hint for the developers... They should develop a multiplayer feature like this because there is demand. WITE is a good platform to start doing it. Yes, there is demand, and in reality it is the only way I can imagine for increasing the scope or detail of wargames. I think we are already at the very limits of a single player to master and control the detail of WITE (or WITP, that seems even more challenging) But I am not sure if the turn-based system can be adequate. Emailing a turn when you have 4 vs 4 seems already cumbersome. What will happen when we arrive at 20 vs 20 (East+West+Pacific+Production War,...all WWII in one insanely huge game)? In massive online multiplayer games, all players play at the same time, it is realtime...you control your units, but you are part of an alliance...is there in those games a model for future developments of WWII wargames (and when I say future, I am thinking, mmm, about 2025? ...) My personal vision is for a game like WiTE at the top level, at about a one week turn per day, with the on-map battles triggering scenarios in a game like Combat Mission 2. Two players (OKH and STAVKA) play the strategic game but anyone on a team can pick a 1-hex battle to play within a given time window and the result is fed back into the main game. Any unselected battles get resolved by the dice role.
