I moved to Stockholm just some 1.5 years ago. Before that I lived in Luleå for 44 years. I even had a LHF season card for ~15 years up until the mid-nineties.

Anyway, congratulations on the win, even if it felt like a robbery!

Morning gents, guest what... I'm in hospital, sitting on a hospital bed typing this out on my laptop. I have access fluid around my organs and stomach, which is not too serious in itself. But not much fun when they drain some off with a big needle.

I went to the my Doctor 2x days ago with swollen feet and lower legs, and ended up in hospital in our Provençal city. I think I'll stay away from my Doctor in future. So apparently I'm stuck here until they find the what is happening.

Jeez, Des! Hope you recover quickly!

Bookstore in Iceland

(I’m assisting a tourist that is looking for a t-shirt to take home with pictures of Iceland on them.)

Me: “Well, we don’t sell those t-shirts but there are quite a few of them down town and I know of one that has a 3 for 2 special offer on t-shirts.”

Customer: “Could you also explain to me what a 3 for 2 offer is?”

Me: “Sure, it means that you get 3 t-shirts for the price of 2.”

Customer: “I don’t understand, so we steal the 3rd one? Isn’t shoplifting illegal here like in the states?”

Me: “Yes, shoplifting is illegal here, but you wouldn’t be stealing the 3rd shirt. It just means that you choose 3 t-shirts and pay for 2 and then get the 3rd as a free gift sort of.”

Customer: “I don’t get it.”

Me: “You choose 3 t-shirts, and as the sales person scans them in to the register you get a 100% discount on the 3rd t-shirt. Therefore, you’ll get it for free with the other 2.”

Customer: “I’ll go down there, but if they arrest me for shoplifting, I’m telling the police that you told me to!”

Then I suppose you remember the 92/93-season? I had a season card that year hehe

But yeah, those were easily the most undeserved two points this season. However, we did deserve to win the penalty shootout.

Nope, Sthlm now. Grew up there though.

After we moved away in '59 I have only had one chance to visit it - back in '85. I was surprised to see a small plaque commemorating dad's work on the wall by the door to the superintendent's office when I was there. I have no idea if it is still there, but I'll wager that the visitor's center is still the same building.

As for yesterdays game, LHF have no one to blame but themselves. Creating that many scoring chances without doing goals is supposed to be punished. They are at least creating those chances, and I pity the team that's meeting us when we start to score on at least a small percentage of those.

Agree with you on the penalities also. Silverbergs penalty shots were real beauties.

One interesting thing is that all the times we have met in a playoff, we have eliminated you. The only time you won the championships, we did not reach the playoffs (or were eliminated earlier, I dont recall).

Well, I just hope we reach the playoffs and dont have to qualify...its so tight down there right now Im having nightmares about getting sucked into that.

True. You're definitely our bogey team.

I really don't think you (or I) have to worry about that. We're 11 points ahead of the team in 9th place with only six games to go. I find it highly unlikely (if even mathematically possible) that all those teams behind could reach us to put us out of the play-offs.

Good morning, THREAD dudes. Expecting 6-12" of wet, heavy snow today. Since we had a very welcome thaw, I was able to use the grill last night and grill up some steaks. We'll have another chance to use the grill in another month or so.

I have been all over that place ! Made the trip dozens of times through the years.

As a kid and teenager, we used to camp and visit Gettysburg almost every summer. I love the place. When I was living in Memphis I finally got a chance to visit Shiloh. What a wonderfully designed and maintained park! By far my favorite battlefield I have ever visited! I can't recommend making a visit to anyone with any interest in military history highly enough.
