I have been fooling around for a while on the T1 AF bombing campaign, and one odd thing I have noted is that if I let the AI handle a particular mission (i.e. right-click on the target), it generally gets better results than if I had done it myself by shift-right-click. In particular, if I add more forces than the AI suggests, I tend to get worse results. Anybody else see this?

I also had two questions on general tactics.

First, it looks like 1 big raid is better than splitting it up 50/50 or 25/25/25/25 -- do others feel the same?

Second, do people recommend hitting the closer AFs first or last? Similarly, if you have unspectacular results on the first attack, should you reattack immediately, or cycle through the other attacks first, and then reattack where necessary after all the first strikes have been completed?

On T1 I tend to hit the closer airfields first on the principle that it will draw up the enemy fighters, and my habit is to hit each airfield once then go round again. leave the airefields out of escort range to last, hopefully most of the enemy fighters will be out of action by then. After T1, i rarely bomb airfields except for 1, if I find an airfield jammed with 100s of airraft then its worth a bombing or 2, if my ground units are going to bump into an airfield (bombing will damage aircraft which are lost when the field is overrun).

That is a good point about the CAP/Interceptors
