During the Operation Blue scenario I surrounded a pocket of Soviet units. Next turn I expected these units to be isolated only to find they had somehow linked up with other troops and had a supply line.

How did this happen?
According to rule 6.3.3 this could not happen?
All the hexes in the panzer divisions ZOC were pending friendly control at the end of the axis turn. So at the end of the axis turn they should have turned to friendly control.
So the only way it could have turned back to soviet control is for a soviet unit to have occupied that hex. Which they did not.

Russians (or Axis for that matter) don't need to occupy a hex to make it flip. They can just move through it to take "pending control" to flip it back to their control. If the tank corps were close by there, they could have moved in to flip the hex and moved back.

From the screenshot I would guess you were mistaken about there being an unbroken line of pending friendly hexes. Do you have a previous save you can look at?

I'm guessing you never took full control of the hex between the 8-36 and the 10-41 units. You had the 8-36 come from the north and the 10-41 from the south, right? If there were any adjacent Soviet units next to that hex, you would have had to actually travel through it to control it.

...or what Klydon said above.

Unfortunately I don’t have a previous save.
But it was a continuous line of pending friendly hexes. There were no soviet units adjacent to any of my Panzer divisions.

What Klydon said would account for it but the soviet tank corps were not adjacent to would have to move up to that spot into the hex in question and then back out again.
So I don’t think they would have the MPs?

Looks like I will have to do more testing and try and replicate.
