My "allies" (if I can call them like that now) started to attack my ships without any reason. My relation with them is +52 (delighted with us) and we have mutual defense pact, however, they attack my ships!! How so? There must be some reason for them to attack me, though it seems I'm not yet much familiar with game to figure it out. Some help would be appreciated!

This was brought over and over again, more so now in the expansion. There is indeed always a reason: one of your aoe weapons hit a friendly, they are upset with your colonies / stations in their territory (this one is the most common one) or you did something to a race of their family etc etc
Check the entire list of pluses and minuses with them, a generic +52 is not a safe bet.

That actually makes game interesting... I happen to have some stations in their territory and they don't seem to like that much. Time to sell them some of those.

And sometimes they will attack you if they have really good relations with another race you go to war with...not sure if the AI forms MDPs or not, but it sure seems that way sometimes.

There's an obvious exploit here as you can intentionally build stations or create colonies in their territory....and then sell them for mucho dinero and lovely relations afterwards

Well it seems like it's not that perfect. I am now at war with them, due to my mining stations in their territory. At least money I got from selling stations to them I spent on 2 new alliances to aid me in fighting against them. Wonderful game.

Haha not really. I decided to take a break from Star Trek universe and tried out that diverse worlds mod.

PS: It's over now! Crash ruined everything! Weird crash, so late in the game with no apparent reason. First time I get crash, sadly forgot to take screenshot.
