In an effort to curb the illegal alien invasion from south of the border, the Great State of Texas has started placing public signs within it's parks as seen here in Harris County, NW of Houston...

I don't find the picture offensive as I have had pinatas at my own children's parties and friend's parties. Therefore the sign makes sense to me. THe OP narative is uncalled for.

I think the tilde belongs over the n.

What does a Texas State & County park sign have to do with racism? BTW, I understand that these very signs will be posted in "Federal/National Parks" within the State as well soon if not already... Will have to check out Sam Houston Nat'l Forest soon to see.

No joke here, maybe where you live it might be? Here in Texas as well as most of the people of this Nation (The goverment sometimes included) believe in our U.S. Constitution and that people should not be allowed to cross our borders illegally period.

I guess if you don't like the sign you could petition against it? As if your an American and living in Texas you have the right to do just such a thing unlike many countries sadly. I wouldn't bother though as it's already the "LAW" and passed by overwelming majority. "Don't Mess With Texas"

I dont think the sign is meant to curb illegal immigration from Mexico.I thought this was something you found on the net,not real. But,by you stating that its meant to curb illegals from Mexico and the sign saying no pinata's and below that lock all valuables, you are implying they are theives.

I'm not implying anything whatsoever actually, just thought I would share a picture I took yesterday at one of our local parks. Keep in mind I had nothing to do with these signs other than "vote" in favor of such laws that help prevent crime, illegal immigration and things of that nature. Apparently, based on the amount of illegal aliens arrested within the area which is public information, the "State & County" along with the people of same believed the signs were nec...

BTW, I've knocked around a few "Pinata's" in my time and so has my kids, the only difference is we clean up our mess...

If I was in charge of the State/Country there would be almost no illegal aliens criminal or otherwise roaming around our country side by the millions!

For one, there never was argument here. The signs are simply in compliance with the law, I was just happy to see it take effect and thought that many would feel the same, sorry you took it wrong. This law is the first (granted small) in many steps that help with issues involving States that are next to our Southern National Border. Though this may seem wrong to you, the majority feel as I that every effort must be made to keep our borders secure and our States polution free from those that simply don't care and leave their garbage laying around. By the way my manhood is 5x5, so no worries there, k.

Take Care!

I have family that run campgrounds for the parks dept.  I can fully understand the sign.  The pinatas normally as any from that area of the country is aware are filled with candies some can be small.  I can imagine the mess they make when they split the pinata and the candy spills out.  To me this is not a race issue but rather a cleanliness and lawsuit issue.  Just imagine if candy is left behind and is missed during cleanup but is found by a child and poisons them due to it's age ect.  Some of the things they have had to clean over the years is just awful.  Where they are, folks from Mexico come over the boarder for parties and to camp in the campgrounds and return to Mexico.  They have to clean up after these events.  Most of the time they say the visitors clean the areas very well but you do get the odd sorts of all types that wont clean and just leave a terrible mess.  In the southwest pinatas are not uncommon even for non Hispanics.

Im not saying anything is wrong with the sign,it was the context the op put it in.He clearly stated it was to curb illegal immigration.I highly doubt that was the intention of the govt when they posted the sign.

I know it wasn't the intention the state/feds to curb illegal immigration using such things.  just trying to provide a alternate perspective (a non political one at that...).  I like you hope it was done in jest.

What does banning messy pinatas from parks have to do with curbing illegal immigration?

Banning pinatas will not curb border crossing.

Punishing businesses that hire people without checking status will solve the problem. No job, no need to come here.

The op was trying to be cute, funny or something.Pinata's are part of Mexican culture and he stated the sign is meant for illegal immigrants  from Mexico. The govt didnt mean for the sign to be read in the context the op stated.

Exactly! and no one said this was limited to just "Hispanics" by the way... True, from Mexico Hispanics and Pinata'a are very common and they appear to be the most common threat to our Nation by the mere proximity and numbers though one must keep in mind that the invasion continues from the south by non Hispanics as well due to our higher goverments' apparent lack of following it's own stated policies. This of course is no reflection upon those in the field charged with enforcing our laws however! They are doing the best they can with what little they get allocated to enforce such, no doubt!

Whatever the intention, there are other places on the internet to post this, not in a wargame forum.

It would likely be helpful in deed if the signs were in fact bilingual, however it is against the States policy to use any non English format in State/Goverment buisness unlike some States apparently...

Junk, most of the stuff that's posted in GD isn't about wargaming. In fact, if you click on the names of some of the most frequent posters, you'll see that some of them don't post to any Matrix forum BUT this one. Kill off those guys and the spam-bots, and the joint would pretty much be empty. Which beggars the question, why doesn't Matrix pull the plug on this whole mess and be done with it?

You apparently misunderstood, the picture was not intended to be funny at all though some may think it is? However, it is most certainly true and thankfully so! Glad to see you have what would appear to be somewhat of a sense of humor even though a bit skewed maybe...

Hmm... It would appear that "bairdlander" is not from the U.S. and thus is sadly unable to comprehend the complexities of the "Illegal Alien Invasion" we are facing which directly relates to illegal dumping on our soil in many respects?
