I wrote a series of new scenarios using similar design and they will be released with AT Gold. Scenarios include:

- WAW is a global conflict starting in 1938, 1939 or 1940 depending on the variant you choose
- Eastern Front
- Pacific War

Key elements include:

- 11 historic variants (e.g., No Stalin purge, Franco joins Axis, Czechs fight)
- 2 step production process with gearing. You need to build engines, steel, pilots, specialists and hulls before you build end units. It takes several months from the start of production until the end units can be built. Production is a bit more complex than the AT Gold random game.
- Specialized locations (e.g., tank factory, air factory, chemical factory) and the use of fuel to constrain mechanized units (e.g., ships, planes, tanks)
- New R&D process. You specifically research infantry, artillery, tank technology vs research with political points. It takes several rounds to achieve a breakthrough
- Hand drawn unit graphics (courtesy of Stuart Zastrow). Some examples are in the picture below showing a infantry corps in the German Fourth Army on the Polish border.
- More flexible minor and major country activations. Almost every minor can be influenced on way or another. The entry of France, Italy, the Soviet Union and the US can be influenced by both sides.
- More accurate map using Google Tile application
- Orders of battle based on 1939 armies and naval fleets. Special named generals (e.g., Zhukov, Romel, Manstein, Patton) active as super staff.
- Allies. Italy is an ally of Germany. The US and UK are allies. The Balkan minors are an ally of Germany in the Eastern Front scenario.

I hope everyone enjoys!

Here is a strategic shot of the Eastern Front prior to start. The highlighted unit is from Panzer Group 3 from Army Group Central. Note that this scenario was also designed for solitare play.

Here is the Japanese 1st Carrier Fleet prior to Pearl Harbor in the Pacific War scenario. The Japanese Naval units have a turn of pre-movement so players can try a range of different openings.

Thanks for the screenies Tom.
The unit pictures are great, and a refreshing approach IMHO.
I'm *not* a fan of the city symbols though (in the zoomed in mode) they look like Lego. Not that I mind Lego, Lego is cool, but not in ATG

There is a spelling mistake in this opening screen; scenario instead of sceanario.

And thank you for your hard work.

Updating the location types was not a priority.  I do use separate location graphics depending on the people that live in the city.  If someone has the inspiration to create better location graphics, I would be happy to use.

does that mean all the other scenarios you mentioned are exclusively for pbem?

Probably most of the scenarios will be AI capable, well that's my experience from AT. Only the very large and complex scenarios were human-human only.

Here is another screenshot. The numbers at the top of the screen are the resource bar. Besides political points, it shows how many pilots, hulls, engines, steel, specialists, fuel and manpower a side has. These resources are needed as follows:

1. Pilots are needed to build planes
2. Hulls are needed to build ships
3. Engines are needed to build planes and vehicles
4. Steel is needed to build artillery and armored vehicles
5. Specialists are needed to build staff, engineers and elite infantry (e.g., airbourne)
6. Fuel is needed to effectively move and fight ships, planes and vehicles.
7. Manpower is needed for infantry

Note that resources are built in locations that can build the appropriate units (e.g., a location that can build planes can build pilots and engines). It takes about 4 months to build a resource (which means it takes about 5 months to build a plane) so you have to time your construction based on your offensives.

Fuel is built automatically when supply is built. Supply can be built at an oil field (cost 1 production point), a resource hex (costs 2 production points) or a city (costs 10 production points). You need to stock alot of fuel if you plan to fight a mechanized campaign. If you are careless, you will find yourself fuel constrained by the 3 turn of the Eastern Front campaign.

In the picture, I also highlighted Magdeburg which is a University. You can see the type of research that is produced. By forcing you to buy research with specific research points (vs political points), you have to plan research in further in advance. You cannot just horde political points and decide what to upgrade in the last minute.

Like these improvements very much. This seems WAW based on ATG becomes a new game which I have fantasized.
Thanks you for these nice works.

How do you manage manually sending individual units to all those counters?
This is the biggest chore for me when playing large scenarios of AT.

I like the renaming of the resources to give it a WITP feel.
And how do you think the AI can cope in these large scenaros?

Do we know if the AI can follow any of this multi-level resource business, or will the AI just be unable to produce anything in scenarios that use it? Would it be practical to set up a scenario where one side must use the complex production system, but the other side (AI?) uses the basic production model? 2 sets of units, perhaps, or would that just get too big?

I think you would have do quite a bit of scripting for the AI to work on this scenario. My personal preference is to play with people so I have not focussed on this. If someone wants to give it a go, I would be happy to give pointers.
