Is there a hotkey or anything to make it so I only select the TOP unit in a stack when clicking on a hex?

I just don't understand design decisions like this. Like ok, I'm moving a unit and it ends it's move in a hex containing other units. OF COURSE I would like all the units to be now selected. Thank you!

I swear, like 25% of all my mouse clicks in this game are me telling the interface that I DON'T want to move a certain unit. Not to mention all the times I have to reload the game because the ENTIRE stack moves and I can't undo the move.

Fully agreed, that when moving a single unit or 2 units just those units should remain selected when moving into an occupied hex.

+1. Otherwise you have ONE MORE reason to have to click on something. Also, now that I have your attention......how about when you're choosing which file to load from your saved files, how about it knowing which one you mean to load if you just double click on the filename instead of having to also click on that "load" button at the bottom of the screen. Just a thought.

You guys should see the stupid software I have to use at work! WITE interface is a little weird, sure, but not that bad. You just need to play it incessantly, again and again, until our bodies become part of the machine ;).

I had that problem too. Now when I save a turn I write down the name of my last turn like "GC early turn 4", so I know where I left off.

You guys have to remember Gary and Joel started this game almost 12 years ago and shelved it. They didn't start from scratch but picked up the peices they started with back then. The stacking issue was brought a couple years ago and would have cost to many programing issues and a hell of alot of lost time...

So it will hopefully all be addressed in War in the West, which will be a new game, right? :)

I think were just rolling the same system into WitW, otherewise we will look at years of delay. I really don't see a big problem here, I just got used to the system and its is second hand to me...

Years to change the interface?

That seems rather hard to believe.

I do like the standard software development response to a requested change that you just don't want to deal with -

"That - sure, we could fix that, but it will take 800 man hours!"

I've used it myself. More than once...
