Need some advice and can�t seem to find threads on this issue elsewhere...

During the spring 42� the germans recieve a lot of new units in the west and they are all assigned to O.K.H. When I move them to the front I usually assign them to the newly formed HQ Army Group B and throw in a few units to HQ�s that have lost units in other sectors.

However, I�m running out of corps in Army Group B to fill up with units and I have launched the attack on Kaukasus with this Army Group B. So some of my new units in this sector is still assigned to O.K.H. And the strange thing to me is that I can�t really see any difference within the units taking part is this sector. They seem to perform equally well. Can anyone enligthen me on what the problem is of having O.K.H. assigned units fighting in the front other than they won�t be getting support from support units???

And sorry if this is a NOOB question but I�m a rookie...

There are rolls made by the commander of a unit involved in combat. If they miss, then it goes up the chain of command with each commander having a chance to roll to positively affect the outcome. For a regular unit with normal chain of command, they have a corps commander, army commander, army group commander and then OKH commander, so 4 chances. With something directly attached, they get just the OKH roll.

If you started with the 42 campaign, I think several of the German HQ's have minor Axis ally units attached. You can move them back to their respective HQs and put in German units instead. Also, AGN typically has a lot of space, so it could be possible to shift some of the northern AGC units to fall under AGN and then some of the northern AGS units into AGC.

You will eat penalties with units from different commands in the same combat. Sometimes this matters and sometimes it doesn't, but it is a fairly large reduction.
