Congratulations on WITE passing 50,000 posts. This places it third behind Steel Panthers and WITP for post numbers.

If postings are any indication of commercial success, and they may not be mind you, then Matrix has struck pay-dirt here. Both Steel Panthers (120000 posts) and WITP (336000 1st ed and 237000 2nd ed) have had very long periods of time to rack up those results.

From monitoring the threads it is clear even those who are complaining are playing the game!

Having survived a first winter as the Germans now, much bruised and 0-20 hexes away from where the front line started, 0 outside leningrad, 20 hexes for AGC, the only piece of advice I can suggest to Axis players (that's to make this post mildly relevant to anything)is that AGS has to take Stalino and the adjoining two city spaces to survive the first winter. Put a mountian unit in each city with support of another unit and the Soviets have a hell of a time breaking the line. I held Stalino till mid-February with this defence, so only two turns of running away!

Lol...This is just the start of a long race. Were going into beta testing of WitW soon, then WiNA, then the whole goal THE WAR IN EUROPE. Now can we live that long is the question...Will my wife kill me before then?

Long live the Envelope Game!

This will be an inside joke in a few months/years that only the first owners of WITE will get.

We'll see posts like:

"So what's this envelope business that so-and-so referred to?"

We'll all laugh at the newbie, and then someone will provide the answer.

Ain't we great.

<Pointless post just to drive up my total.>

OK, I'll ask. What's this envelope business that so-and-so referred to?

Well I call it beta, we have the game system in place. Were just waiting for the map guys. Trey is working overtime on OOB's and testing should start in the next quarter. I have Patton fever and can't wait...Joel I hope I didn't overstep hanging the carrot out there...

There is plenty to keep us occupied with what we have here for quite some time, but thanks for the update.

Just can't hold our testers back.

Don't go starting false rumors Jon. We're at the early stages in WitW. We will not be in alpha testing for many months, let alone beta testing. Of course we're starting with a good foundation with WitE, but there's a lot to do to get to an alpha WitW. Remember there are important things in the west we didn't have to deal with in detail in the east.

Thank goodness. Last thing I need now is another game.
