Just seen the listed price for WiTP...$70 US !

That makes it $140 AUS without factoring in postage!

Hi

I bought Medal of Honor: Allied Assult for 50$ and finished the game in two days. WITP? A game that I will likely play for 10-15 years. Its expensive but worth every cent. It will hurt at first (I'm a poor student) but I dont mind since I know what I'm getting.

Dan

It's very good value for money. XBOX games cost about the same and nobody plays them longer than a couple of weeks.
There are going to be new scenarios for that one for a long time to come.

True enough but you still have more money left than when you're divorced;)

Besides I'm sure Dave knows of some much less acceptable (to the wife anyway) diversions.:D

Greetings, I seem to recall paying over $80 for Pac War in 1995
I have never regretted it (or even thought about it till now that I see WITP will cost even less.)
Given the thousands of hours I've spent playing Pac War it was one of the cheapest games ever.
UV has already consumed untold hours and I have yet to get to the bottom of it.
I'm just glad they have not found a way to charge us by the hour.

Hi

I really like MOH and found that playing it online really gave the game new life. I was making a simple comparison and maybe it sounded like I was trashing MOH.

okay.

but i don´t think it makes sense to compare 3D action with a grognard game, even if both handle WW2;)

and i think making a game like MOH is a simmilar difficult work for programmers/designers than like "our strategy games". but if you see some "TRASH" games on the market that´s of course not the case. MOH is sold for 29.90 € in some german shops (special price). i think 70$ is a little bit heavy for ANY game, but if WITP goes like i except it, i will buy it regardless, because i like "big picture, micromanament, historic wargames" since i played "second front" on amiga computer

Well considering the amount of man-hours put into the game, and the smaller market; $70 is not that bad......Matrix is being realistic, IMHO. They need to stay afloat just like any other company. Heck the cost of computer games really hasn't risen that much over the last decade, they have actually stayed below inflation on cost increase....

Maybe Matrix / 2by3 should put a time playing counter into the game so we can tell how much time we have wasted, I mean spent playing, and know what a bargian we got.

Byt maybe this is something that should be able to be disabled so it can't be used against anyone in divorce court. :D

$69.95 American, plus shipping. It's on the development page of the Matrix Web site.

The release date is given as March 2003.

Witp is a garanteed bargain because we know matrix will support it as they have done UV.
on a cost per hour basis UV is already miniscule.

I remember paying $79 for War in Russia back in 1984 for my Apple IIe and I played that for many, many years. So for $70 in 2002 is not such a bad price.

I think I payed like $40 for PACWAR back in 1992. I still have the disk, box, manual, and the advertisement flyers that came with it. Am I a pack rat or what? I guess I can handle the $70. Just wish it was coming out sooner. I have been dreaming about this for two years now.

Shoot - seventy bucks? You can't even have a decent five minutes in Vegas on that anymore.

For $70 US you can go up to the Stratosphere tower and do the "Big Shot" slingshot ride 70(!!!!) times. Although this would probably accumulated enough G forces to make you a lot shorter . . . (Big Shot is a hydraulic/magnetic slingshot that shoots you straight up. Basically you sit on a chair, and the back of a chair is tied to a really high pole that goes straight up off the top of the Stratosphere tower (so you are already 1000ft above Las Vegas) and basically they shoot you up the pole - you hit 4.3 Gs on the way up, hit the top, and then they almost let you free fall all the way back down).

Biggest rush you can get in Las Vegas for $1. Which still meant it cost me $2 (AUS), and in reality I had to pay $4 Aus every time (girlfriend) but is still cheap . . .

Jeez, man, if all you go to Vegas for is to climb into a carnival ride that gives you a wedgie and nausea, I hope you enjoy your seventy bucks' worth. The best rides in Vegas tend to have, shall we say, more feminine names...

Shoot that up your pole (and they don't discriminate, they are friendly to Poles, too). The hydraulic effect of a ride known as "Fellatia" is especially thrilling...

I am having a hoot playing UV. In just a week and a half since I got the game, it has more than paid for itself already. . .

Who cares how much WiTP costs. I spend $70.00 a week in groceries. This game will be played for years. . .

Just take your time with WiTP fellas and get it right. . . :)

Can't wait. . .
