So...I still have the original Trilogy set of Close Combat for Windows95. I remember trying to play it for a few times, then gave up and that was it. Tick forward to today, and with LSA and I'm kinda feeling the same thing. I try and appreciate the realism, but sheesh....last night I had a sniper from 128 meters away take shot after shot after shot and a dude...the sniper was in open field and the dude was behind light cover. 5 minutes later the sniper gets shot down by the dude. I keep thinking "if this was the real world, have really missed like 15 times?" it's these types of things that frustrate me with the entire CC series. That and not being able to save DURING a battle..least I haven't figured that one out yet ;)

That can be frustrating.... There definitely is some random factors in the game calculations to make things inconsistent and frustrating if/when you are on the wrong side of it. But having said that it is a pretty good simulation in that better men (experience and morale), tactics (your part in the game; command teams close by, attacking from multiple directions/flanking, using terrain, etc.) and weapons (ammo loads, armour thickness, gun penetration, etc.) all come into play. It was good enough that both UK and US use a version of the game for training purposes.....

are you playing H2H? thats where the game comes into its own. LSA still needs some tweaks, to make it a GREAT game.

Wow did know that....and no, I haven't played H2H yet. Out of all the CC series, which is the most realistic, and the least frustrating?

Yes, sometimes in the real world snipers can miss dudes @ 128 meters like 15 times...
