Well...it could serve if youre very, very much inclined to try.....but I just cant see it attracting too many scantily clad college freshmen of the female persuasion.

Not sure what they would think of the garbage disposal either.

So to summarize, brother Simon:

You're working several hours from home. For naught gain. But it has to be done. For work. But they can't pay you for it. On a Sunday.

Fair summary?

Could you do me a favor and come over this way for a bit. I've some leaves that need raking in the backyard. No worries-I won't pay you for it either. If it helps you to think of me as an employer (albeit one that doesn't pay for work rendered), that's OK by me.

In the meantime, I'm going to take the kids on a bike ride and then to see, "Hop". Going with the wee ones to movies like this is what happens when you aren't doing work from home, so maybe your approach was sage. Although I suspect that you pulled your share of insipid movie duties in the recent past too.

Hey USS....tornado warning for you guys.

Outside the public library using their wifi from the parking lot - Tithe.

We're all good. Lost power about 3:15, but didn't see anything too severe at our house. Power is still out almost 3 hours later.

My wife is on the road, heading east, and will likely have to dodge some strong storm cells on her way to work in Greenville tonight. Radio sounds like there are some areas of severe tornado damage in parts of Raleigh. We're very fortunate.

Mike, so glad to read you escaped any harm !!

I also wish to all USA threadster brothers to keep safe from all these tornados.

Yes but I just got 2 days extra holidays. The problem is no-one writes contracts for people that have to do a fair proportion of their work outside of business hours but have to be in the office during business hours too - just in case. Anyway I'm off tomorrow ant Tuesday. Then have 2 x 4 day weekends back to back.

Just watched the first episode of the first series of the BBC's reimagining of Sherlock Holmes. Was actually much, much better than you'd think. It probably helped that I had no clue () about the existence of it until I saw it in tonight's TV listing.

Will definitely be tuning in for the second episode next Saturday.

good to hear, i am a big Holmes fan

Back home with the power back on.  My wife just called and has made it to work safely.

Others in the area and the state have not been so lucky.

Good to hear all is well for you...we're fortunate in Knoxville 'most' of the time (unlike other areas in the south) we just get heavy rain, although a small community nearby was hit with an F3 earlier in the year.

This was a very bad system of storms.

I'd never read any Holmes until I picked up a book at the library last week.

Morning tithe, still working on my next PBEM first turn. Feels like this one is a work of art, an orchestra warming-up.

I'm sure you're in no mood for humor, Stu-so I'll make it bad: Why the returns? Didn't they get done right the first time around?

Watched "Hop" today with the kids. Kids enjoyed it. I was yearning for the rat in a cage for my face. Oh, actually, it was bearable-just. David Hasselhoff in pleather has a comedic value of sorts.

Yeah, my take too. Didn't that one have multiple different endings? Didja prefer any of the alternates?
