No. I've been off for three and a half weeks. I've gone back to my usual program, adding extra ankle stuff.

Morning Tithe...

Hi Mynok, only problem I had when I got a new laptop with Win7 64. Was with WitPTracker, and I finally got it working by using the Tracker_exe attachment from the support section.

I upgraded from Vista 64k where I had gotten tracker working fine. It requires 32-bit java and 32-bit vcredist.exe installed. That should transfer to Win7 fine.

My primary purpose is to get my root drives hardware mirrored. This requires making an image backup and restoring, but Vista's stupid restore program checks partition size not data size when checking to see if the backup will fit. STUPID STUPID STUPID FRACKING STUPID. May their butt hairs turn into needles.

Anyway, we will find out if Win7 backup fixed this insanity.

There seems to be an increase amongst the general population of smokers. Before I started commuting to and from work five days a week, I had a largely ambivalent attitude towards smokers, but now I loathe them.

There's no smoking in trains of course, but standing among a cluster of foul-smelling ciggy suckers on the platform and looking at all their disgusting trash on the ground...

I think it's time for a new national campaign to discourage smoking in public (I don't care what activities you do in your home). Since positive reinforcement and scare tactics are useless, I think it's time for negative reinforcement.

If you see somebody light up in public, punch them in the face. Just one punch, but as hard as you like, and you won't be punished for it.

The tagline will be "Have YOU punched a smoker today?"

Most public places in the US, like train platforms, no longer allow smoking.  It varies by state, but more and more are effectively pushing smoking out of public places, even outdoors.

Edit: BTW, as an asthmatic who's mother, father and brother all smoked while I was growing up, I'm all in favor of the restrictions.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a fellow who had been with the lizard people since the early 60s. It was about how he used to come into the office, make coffee....and light up a cigar before getting to work.

Nah. Outdoors is outdoors. Leave the poor SOBs alone, will ya? It's like some people with peanut allergies insisting that no one can bring nut products anywhere around them or people that are sensitive to perfumes insisting on a scent-free workplace so that nothing disturbs them.

I want a no farting outdoors (or indoors) law. I find them most disagreeable when I'm anywhere within-say-200 yards. Because of the fact that I *might* be around you (probably not, but we wouldn't want to take chances...), it's best if you never farted outdoors again. If you did so, I would interpret that as an immediate assault on my health, well-being and peace of mind.

Onime, I'll mooch one off of you in support.

Very doubtful. Everything I've seen from every North American and European country (except for Greece ) has smoking on the wane.

I enjoy my pipe in my house. Don't smoke it anywhere else. I've smoked cigs but that's long in the past and really can't stand the smell of them anymore. Like a cigar once in a while, too, but those are strictly for outdoors on my deck with a nice Belgian beer.

Places like railway platforms should be smoke free, just because it's outdoors doesn't mean that the smoke is less harmful to the crowds of people around the smoker does it? I've got no issues with smokers going somewhere away from the crowd to light up and kill their lungs if they so desire, or doing it in their own house. Each to their own, I don't smoke my own cigarettes so why should I have to suffer the fumes from someone else in a public space?

What, the same people who use the world as their ashtray? I just love drivers who flick their red hot ciggy end out the window. Can I throw the contents of our cat litter tray at their house?

I should leave those "poor SOBs" alone? NO! They should leave me alone.

Plenty of them pointedly ignore no smoking signs, just because they can. **** them.
