How do I get supplies to a hq that has landed as part of a invasion force on a enemy land separated by sea ?


Do supplies have to be loaded on transport planes before they can air supply units ?


Do all navy units have to dock at a port in order to resupply themselves i mean can they be resupplied at sea from a cargo ship?

As to your questions:

-> Best options are to capture a town with port or build a port over which you can trace supply.

Do supplies have to be loaded on transport planes before they can air supply units ?
-> No. The air supply mission is flown with transport planes on the same hex as the corresponding HQ. The transport planes fly the supply from the HQ to the unit so to speak.

Do all navy units have to dock at a port in order to resupply themselves i mean can they be resupplied at sea from a cargo ship?
-> No. You can transfer supplies from a HQ in a coastal town/port with cargo ships to ships at sea. Also sometimes it is an option to merge ships with very few supplies with a well supplied fleet to average supplies.

Short answer, always put an engineer (30-40 strength) unit in your invading force, it can build the port the next turn (or the turn after that).
Moreover, if the enemy has sufficient ships around they can block the port, so whether you build that port or not, they'll starve anyway because they get no supplies.
So what I sometimes do is keep the transport ships in the vicinity, if things go very wrong then I can always make my own "Dunkirk".

So once the port on the enemy shore is built and providing the sea lanes are open my hq on the enemy shore will be able to get supplies though the port just like if its on land ?


Always thought putting supplies and trucks in a hq send that hq via cargoship to shore then transfer supplies to hq on enemy shore and repeat cycle was not right.


When are factories worth ever building i mean they cost a lot of pp,raw materials and provide very little production capacity when compared with a city they seem useless if they had research available to increase capacity would that make them more viable ?


Can you capture a enemy town and use its production capacity similarly can you do the same for a enemy factory ?


Even after reading thought manual a few times and threads still don't understand the supply by sea.

1. Captured enemy cities can only produce PPs, limited amounts of oil or limited amounts of RAW materials.

2. Factories are costly to build. Much more efficient, if you can pull it off, to capture them from the enemy. That said, building your own factories can be necessary and useful. If you are building tanks at your own tank factory, then tank production in one of your cities can be devoted to something else.

Uhm there is nothing to understand as it goes completely automatic (phew), same for landsupply, that one goes automatic too. Ofcourse supply via sealanes is exceptionally vulnerable to supply inderdiction (especially Uboats), and supply over land has the distance factor involved... that is too far away from a railroad and your troops won't get enough supply.

Is it me or is a "choose faction" option in random scenario is missing ? In the new custom game how do you choose your faction?

Has anyone noticed strange lag sometimes when you zoom in to map to max and then change screens between screens like "strategic transfer" page and the map then click a hex to move a unit and all of a sudden nothing responds for a short while?
