After many months, I started up a new GC using the almost-latest beta (1108m1), and noticed a change of behavior when transferring air units with some non-operational planes.

Old behavior: The non-operational planes would be split into a fragment and stay at the base the air unit transferred from.

New behavior: The non-operational planes disappear. No fragment remains behind.

Is this WAD? If so, do the non-operational planes eventually reappear as replacements?

Are the original base and the transferred-to base connected by a rail line? If so, the non-operational planes are transferring via rail and will show up a little later. If this is what you are seeing, it's not a change.

I had never noticed this before. Gad, you learn something every day. Thanks for clarifying!

Check the group reinforcement schedule. You will most likely find them there arriving after a day or so.
The other thing to do is check to see if the 'Unit OOB' is active for the group. Click on that and it will tell you where the remainder of the group is or if in the queue.

Yes, right on. I transferred a unit, no fragment remained. But I saw the unit in the group reinforcements 1 day out, and when I clicked on the unit's OOB button, it also said a fragment was one day out.

The amazing thing is I never noticed this before, especially considering how precious Allied fighers are in the early campaign.

Thanks, all.
