While you may have a scenario with a large OOB it's easy to find and follow the action. When anything appears in the message box you can simply click on it and it will take you to that event.

If you need to see where artillery is landing, or any other event in the message box, but want to stop the action while you go look you can hit pause, click on the action in the message box which will take you there, you can click on the replay bar a bit before the artillery starts to land and watch the entire event.

Cool, I forgot about that nice feature, ... Thanks Steveooooo

Yep, just shift-click on the event and it will move to it and rewind the replay automatically to just before it happened.

Regards,

- Erik

I understand deselecting, I am referencing the constant in-out motion of the crop marks when the unit is selected and I am trying to plot some orders, such as LOS/LOF, is there a way to make the motion stop... I figured if I could turn off the pulsating Icons (I think they beat at the same rate as my pulse) I could turn of the blue crops.... Once I deselct I no longer can do anything with the unit... Its not a biggy but it is annoying to me, maybe I shouldn't be down at ground level behind the unit doing LOS/LOF plotting...

Aha, now I understand. No way to stop it at present, but we could add that as an option in the future.

That blue flashing marker is showing you where on the overall situation map the unit you have selected is located. Deselect any units and there won't be any flashing blue squares.

Hi Steve

I understand deselecting, I am referencing the constant in-out motion of the crop marks when the unit is selected and I am trying to plot some orders, such as LOS/LOF, is there a way to make the motion stop... I don't know of any way to make the pulsing selction box stop. I'm pretty sure there is none.

Thanks

It was the fact that you put GRASS ahead of everything else that is MORE IMPORTANT to this game.

This is simply not true, but perhaps you could be more happy with a game set in North Africa... think, no GRASS!

Glad you like the PCO Demo Freddie...especially since you were so vocal about how PCK SUCKS!!!!!! ROFL!!!

I'm glad you took the time to at least try PCO. It's different but then we always set out to make it different.

There is no dynamic terrain damage in PCO. This all started off as a simple update. That is one feature that was always to be included in the next game of the series. Destructible terrain is coming just not in this update.

Don't you owe me a game? I'll take it with PCO when you get the full version. You can pick the scenario!

Good Hunting.

MR

Opinions can be brutal sometimes and I am still not fond of a lot of the play features 'Orders, Reaction' turns... Guess 11 years set in my ways, its tough to retrain and old dog... I will get a copy of the game and play it, I just got to find all my PC:K info... ... And yea, would like to play a battle against you... of course we won't be able to play the best battles cause you probably made them all, and then that would be unfair... Thanks for all your feedback on stuff Steve.... back to somemore demo play... gotta polish up so I can hold my own with the Mad Russkie!!!!

Sure I do, you didn't spend enough time and resources on infantry then. Many of the forum members even at the Wargamer are complaining about the supression levels of infantry. So don't act like I'm the only one bringing this subject up. It's not my fault you thought grass was more important than finishing what should have been done with infantry in the first place.

It's not free I paid $34.95 for Kharkov 3 years ago and I was told I would get a PATCH for it. So where do you get off it's FREE? I paid for it already. Let's ask it this way do people who didn't get Kharkov 3 years ago need to buy Kharkov to get/play Osfront in the next couple of days? No, they just pay for Osfront just like I paid for Kharkov.

Well i'm not trying to be but now they are trying to blame me for the release of this game. Like it's my fault it's being released in the state it's being released. I made one observation that the infantry supression levels were too high and then Mad Russian started in on me and then Erik. It was a fricking want not a demand. Then Erik goes into his usual if you don't like it you're bashing it and I won't have that and will ban you routine. I've never seen so much suppression of comments around the board at these sites lately. One used to could voice their opinions without malice. I also made a comment that had there been a poll of what players thought was important to this release that grass would have been dead last and it was according to them but they didn't finish up with the others before going to it imho.

Much lower than the stat you are using for them now. I'd set them at 2 in a 1 to 10 scale.

That's right. In that respect you are owed a free patch. You are also owed 3 years of waiting time.

PCO delivers that to you in spades. The original patch was going to fix a few bugs, very specifically the Tank Commander Who Would Never Die bug. Things outside of Matrix' control kept that from happening in a timely manner.

Far more content than a free patch was added. And Added. AND ADDED. To the point where the game is now a stand alone. And yes, you were in that group Matrix felt an obligation to. And now I think they've fulfilled that obligation.

There were lots of points along the way that Matrix could have said, "the PATCH was finished", and all this other content you could have gotten to pay for. Let's understand that, in all actuality, Matrix is in fact giving YOU, the previous PCK owners, a free game and not just the patch you were expecting.

The ONLY Person I see blaming you for ANYTHING is YOU. Enough of that.

PCO is what it is. Let's move on to what it actually does do for now. Get a wish list thread going for what PC might do in the future and enjoy the game.

Good Hunting.

MR

In fact that is exactly how they are done now. The suppression is 2 factors above the killpower factor on a 1 to 10 scale. So if the killpower is 2 then a hit on a 1 to 10 scale 1 and 2 cause casualties, 3 and 4 suppress.
But suppression can be done at a higher number if the infantry is of poor quality and one less if very good quality.

Hi Fredrocker,

Just wanted to make sure you noticed that the Ostfront in-game options allow you to play with 60 second turns and no reaction phase if you prefer.

Hrmmm then another die roll is needed for the supression level alone if that 3 or 4 is rolled. Then you have another factor of 1 to 10 to play with.

Ok I'll be fair and you be fair as well. 3 years ago we were told we were getting a PATCH for Khakov, that's all I wanted, Osfront wasn't even in the picture then. It was the patch to me in my eyes that kept getting delayed and delayed and delayed. I come from an area of a country if you give your word you don't need a signature (except for beauracratic bankers and loan sharks). I was told I'd get a patch. Now if you want to add sacks of potatoes to a can of beans well that's fine, but, I wanted my can of beans 3 years ago. So, really because it took so long just to give me/us our patch the sacks of potatoes should be included because of the delay. Even in local restaurants if your order takes sooooooo long to get to you the manager will give it to you for free or a large discount or a coupon for a free meal the next time you come back (if you come back). It's just common courtesy from where I come from. Maybe in the east you folks aren't like that?

But, now that it's here this should no longer be an issue. But, if I do say something that is missing or doesn't seem right about the game NOW it's just observations and wants and wishes. I'm not demanding this stuff just pointing out what I see now that I've finally got something to look at after 3 years. So, don't get your feathers ruffled if I point out 100 things I find I'd like to see or think that are missing. It's better than that 3 year old Khakov game and I gave you that much already. I didn't even get a thank you out of Erik for my recommendations either. <sniff>

So when the killpower level is 2 would put the overall chance of suppression per hit at 4% compared to 20% chance to cause a casualty.

<sniff>

Fair enough.

I'm not Erik but thanks for all your recommendations and I look forward to your sharing more of them for the upcoming games in the series.

Good Hunting.

MR
