Status: offline 		The only thing I can be sure of about the 'boys is that they'll at least be better than Washington (the bastards) next season. The offense will be okay but unless Ryan is an absolute genious dc, I don't expect much turn around there.

I hope we have a season. As much as I like college football, sundays will be pretty empty w/o pro football. I'll probably feel a strange urge to tailgate on sunday mornings and go drive around Jerryworld for no reason.

Edit: After a couple of rides on the greenways around here, I got back onto the roads for the first time in forever this past Sunday. It's a completely different pace, and I was burned up after 6.5 miles.

I have to practice, I am riding in the Denver Century Ride. 22 miles on June 11th. I need to break my record of 35 miles in one day very soon.

Status: offline 		My daughter has talked me into running a 5K race on the 21st.  I've been out running for a month now working so I won't embarrass myself.  No CPR for me I hope.  She's also talking about a half marathon at the end of summer.  I told her I would have to think hard on that one as the summers in SC are brutal.

I'm sure Brad will laugh, but I've 56 miles ( Half Ironman Tri bike distance) 5 times, with some shorter training rides in the 40's. Two of those rides were in races, after swimming and before running a half marathon of 13.1 miles.

I can't wait to get back into that kind of shape again!

Thanks, Des, but you forgot the other important factor. It's near impossible to play AE if my lovely bride kicks my lazy butt out onto the street for not working. Holding down a job will ultimately result in more AE time.

Ok, one of you Brit types are going to have to explain this to me. Since I get my news from the BBC, at least five times I've seen articles about the manager of Celtic get threatened (or in the latest incident, hit on the sideline). What's the story behind that? Seems his own club's fans hate him. Cause he's Irish? What?

its sectarian - celtic are mainly seen as a catholic club, and rangers are mainly understood to be a protestant club, hence i think its now actually illegal for rangers players to pretend to play the pipes of an orange victory march when they score (like gazza did) - a few years back he received death threats for playing for Southern Ireland and i think it ended his international career - now i think he has been seen as being disrespectful to rangers, the scottish game and the fans and he gets a bomb in a box for his trouble - this is of course my understanding of the situation - not necessarily right - i dont actually know if its Protestant rangers fans or disgruntled Celtic fans

I see now hes Northern Irish which would better explain why the Catholic/Southern Irish Celtic fans dont like him much
