Pocketed divisions disappearing

Pocketed divisions disappearing - 5/12/2011 8:07:43 PM

Status: offline 		Hi guys, maybe it is me that missed something but I used to be able to detect surrendered units via the "Show battles" button...but nothing reports for these encircled and later missing Soviets. Pocket starts with 6 units, then down to 4, then to 2. All this without any attacks whatsoever. Can you please have a look.

Status: offline 		Some other highlights in the last save (96) : SS PzDiv 9 and 10, using PzIV-70 that supposedly are not available until 6 months later, FW-190D ("long nose Dora") being available in the pool before production starts (some 30 or so become available already in 1943 or maybe even 1942. And of course all those poor Rumanian airgroups not having any planes whatsoever as no exports occur of most types and Rumanian plane production is about 4/week. Probably other stuff as well that I forgot (hey I'm not paid to test this game :)

Status: offline 		1.04.16 beta, it is prominently displayed in all the above screenshots 

Edit: All these saves were saved using 1.04.16. The 93-save was saved on the 9th of May and I updated to 1.04.16 (from 1.04.15) on the 8th.

Status: offline 		Did you check the destroyed units totals? You said nothing reported, don't know if you meant numbers, or a message notification. Believe if the division surrenders outright, you don't get a pop up or anything, it will simply appear in the logistics list, as the number of that type of division will have increased.

I meant there is no battle icon when using the "show battles" option (this normally shows surrenders).

Anyway I checked the log and the missing units do not show up there. No Soviet casualties are reported for turns 93-95, the 3 casualties for turn 96 are some 0=0 units I killed off in Caucasus I believe.

Status: offline 		I seriously doubt that a surrender took place, I have never had any Soviet surrenders (unprovoked by attacks) in pockets during the last few game versions that I have noticed. This is WAD btw so we can have historical pockets.

E.g. I have had many Soviet units sitting in pockets for 15-20 turns in the snowy Caucasus mountains without surrendering by themselves. In fact nobody surrenders except if attacked it seems.

I call them yetis. I bet they eat yellow snow, not daring to come down to the plains for a fight.

Status: offline 		I ran this 6 times thru and didn't have any units disappear or warp out at all. I looked at several other isolated ones too and all stayed in place. Did you start your game under 1.03? If so, I suspect some gremlin is playing havoc between the 2 versions.
