Hi,

I would like to buy this game but all the screenshots seem to be in 4:3 format. Does this game support widescreen resolutions?

Thanks!

Yes it auto adjusts.

My desktop is set at 1366x768

I took a shot and saved as a jpeg. Then I found that this forum has a 200kb limit so I reduced it to 80% to attach just so you could see a wide shot.

I'm a beginner, so hopefully this game will be a bit less overwhelming for me than TOAW3, WITE, etc.

Thanks for your help junk2drive, I appreciate it :)

You can make the jump map larger.

Also by pressing esc, the game map will full screen (removing all the UI).

It is DEFINITELY NOT as overwhelming as TOAW and WITE.

It's the BEST wargame to come along in a LONG time. I can't believe I missed it the first time it came around.

I'm with you!

I tried the demo of the first one and was not impressed.

This version is terrific!

Not too pleased with Junk's screen-shot, as I'm getting my ass handed to me as Japs in that very same scenario right now. I don't need any more memories of my last two turns, thanks.

As for TOAW, even the grognards who have played it for years are still not sure what is even happening under the hood. This is the big problem with CLOSED-BOX, or BLACK-BOX engines. And every time some analysis is done, we find yet another whole ton of elements that were simply never working as intended, it's just you can almost never prove it because of the whole closed-box architecture.

I've personally HATED testing these games in the past, since it's so damned hard to track down sometimes even the most vicious of bugs. Being told to just TRUST that the engine is running bug-free has never held well with me. Because even the BEST of wargames have had quite some dozies, and that's even when being able to cross-compare data, and working in a full-time environment like SSI.
