Can someone tell me what game slots do? How do they function? Not just for Action Cards, but elsewhere in the game.
I've been reading Tweber's tutorial on Making Action Cards, and game slots appear to play a part in this, but I'm still a little fuzzy...

Basicly a game slot is just a number. But it can be used in the editor to be checked on added to, subtracted to etc. Basicly any number in the editor can be replaced by a gameslot. The special thing about gameslots compared to regimeslots is that there is only one gameslot1, gameslot2 etc while each regime can have a regimeslot. Also a gameslot is always the same everywhere in the editor compared to a tempvar which only last for that particular event.

So how is this usefall.

Lets say you want a certain regime (1) to recieve a base amount of PP each round. But you want that number to correspond to the VPs of that regime.

Then you can make something like this
Checkround
SetGameslot1 = CheckRegimeVP
ExecGiveRegime1PP=Gameslot1

Then each round regime 1 will get PPs equal to the gameslot which in turn is decided by the VPcount.

Or if you want a certain peoples morale be changed by the use of an actioncard you could do something like this

Set the initial gameslot2 to the decired number (initial people morale, say 95)

Play an actioncard that points at a certain event and let that event say something like
Exechangegameslot2 add 1

And another event that says something like this
SetPeopleMorale= Gameslot2

----
Also gameslots can be set to being visible in the strategic menue with a name, for example Romanian morale.

Thats just a couple of examples of how they can be used. I did not write exact code but i hope you understand the principle.

Thanks for the explanation. Now I need to go in and experiment in the editor--
