I'm almost decided to purchase it, but have a good number of questions before doing the final step. Hope someone can give me a hand with this questions:

1- Is possible to create maps by hand? Painting areas and assigning terrain types? You know I draw a island and make half hilly, half forest, create towns (name them)... Then I create contenders for that map, victory conditions etc and play against the AI.

2- Can I create scenarios using "cold war" technology? Planes like Phantoms, Mig-21, Tanks like the M60 or the Centurion, assault rifle equipped units, units that can be airlifted with choppers, gunship helicopters...

3- Is easy to create fictional countries and assign them new flags, names, etc?

4- Is easy to create "modded" units If they are not included in vanilla game? I'm thinking in armored trains, seaplanes and zeppelins.

5- What about cavalry units?? (with real horses, both with pre and post WW2 weapons)

And thats it. If I can remember something more will ask.
Thanks in advance!!

1) Creating maps is easy. I quite often made some map "improvements" to random maps in AT:WW2 (previous version of the game) and It would be almost as easy to create new maps.

2) You can but you would have to add all new unit types to the game. This is not so easy. There are lots of stats and game needs to be well balanced so I guess loads of testing is needed to fine tune added units types.

3) This is actually very easy. You only need some pics for regime flags and mini-flags.

4) Same as 2. Not so easy but possible. See the following AAR to get an idea. http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2815116

5) Cav is already present in the game, although I'm not sure whether it's in officially released patch or still in beta testing stage. As the game is more or less WW2 era, Cav is also kind of early WW2 unit.

Hope it helps :)

Hope someone can answer this couple of questions:

1- Can I reuse a mod for my own maps changing country names and flags? For example IIRC there is a WW3 mod in the cold war right? I will like to reuse those units into my own games. Is that possible?

2- Is possible to reduce micromanagement?

3- Last one, is possible to have a units limit? both for player and AI? This way I can start playing random games in small maps with a limited number of units learning to play without losing the control of the situation.

Finally, the question before this ones, are the cards easily modeable?

1) Yes
2) Depends on what you mean with micromanagment. This is very much a easy to learn & play hard to master game. You can play very straight up, just produce, move units around and win or you can go deep with supply managment, events, cards, resources etc. It is possible to create scenarios where players place readymade units instead of making them themselves. But i havent seen much interest in such scenarios.
3) I do not think its possible to limit the number of units per se. But the number of units is naturally limited by the available production/resources. If you create a small map with just a couple of cities then neither you nor the ai will have many units. Also, creating units costs resources in itself because the cost Political points. This is a natural obstacle towards creating 100s of units. This can be changed by the way to discourage creation of a lot of units.
4) The cards are modable, in fact cards are not present in the normal random game but something scenario editors make in the editor and can contain most anything. I attach a screenshot of the Actioncard settings in the editor.

From your questions i can guess that the game is MUCH more modable than you can imagine, because the things you ask are very basic things in the editor. The editor is very powerful.

Sounds amazing!! I will purchase the game today or tomorrow.
BTW Grymme, on your signature link there is a Vietnam campaign, looks great! Seen you can have helicopters doing air mobile, and that sounds great!! Wondering If you know a campaign or mod that adds Soviet and British forces for the era, you know, Centurions, T-55, T-62...
