GC1 or DaBigbabes
historical first turn
one day turn
Open to HR suggestions

I played GC1 with Mr Nomad till April, 1943, but something prevented him to play for a month.
So I am looking for another opponent.
I ive in Japan and can do 1 turn a day (sometimes more) with a player living on the other side of the earth.

Hi somali,
Wouldn't you like Treespider's mod? It's closely based on DaBigBabes with some additional tweaks to economy. See here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2276192

Thank you, but Treespider's mod is too hard for me to enjoy IJ play.

And which version of DaBigBabes would you prefer?

I prefer Scenario 029 - Dec. 8 start.

I have not experienced play DaBigBabes.
A or B or C as you like, I will follow.

Thanks for the complement.

FYI in my game with witpqs I have taken everything in the SRA with the exception of Clark Field and the Visayas in the PI. In Burma the last bastion is Myit.

In the South Pacific Port Moresby is mine and New Caledonia is about to fall.

All this with some fairly poor play on my part.

And it is April 22, 1942.

My play experience has shown that once the initial "guerilla" units are eliminated the Japanese have a secure rear area and only need to concern themselves with maintaing the adequate numbers for loacal garrison requiremnets. In addition the limited number of bases in this area do not allow the Chinese a "fall back" position for the "guerilla" units...nor a source of supply.

By including a dot base in most of the cultivated hexes of North China as well as a dot base at each crossroad in China as a whole...and including Garrison Requirements ...as well as adding a minimal automatic daily supply allocation to those bases...the "guerillas" will then have any number of bases from which to operate.

The Japanese will certainly still be able to go where they want when they want - as in history. However once the Japanese start occupying bases off the primary lines of communication their forces will start to be stretched thin by the ever increasing garrison requirement they will incur.

I read your thread before.
I feel your intention is right and your mod reflects real chinese theater much much better than original GC.
But playing IJ in AE with chinese theater unstable is not fun like swimming with headache or running with stomachache.

From what I have seen the economy changes in Treespider's are a pain for both sides, so no clear bias there. But I don't really care all that much which particular scenario it is as long as the play is fun. DaBigBabes scenario C, 8th Dec start then, sounds fun. Let me know what house rules would you like, as far as I'm concerned the 2 quite obvious are: no out of borders move without paying PPs (think Manchuria and India) - there is a space for some minor exceptions, and no strategic bombing in and out of China before say 1944? That's open to discussion of course. Let's move to pm.
